Looking at getting different tires for the MM and do not want another set of sorry wearing BFGs...IMO they just suck...looking at some Kumhos but the size is limited and I was wondering if anyone is running this big of a tire (255/55/18) on the front...I am presently running 245s on all corners with no issues except the excessive wear...so if anyone has any info it would be appreciated...thanks in advance for your support...willie

I have 255/55/18 KDW2s in the rear, I would never run them up front. I think you need to see the tire in person, it's pretty large. Very meaty sidewall on an 18" rim IMHO.

Yeah I wouldn't go bigger on the front. The tire size difference gives the Marauder that muscle car look and stance.

FYI I'm almost done with my tire comparison.
I have searched 13 different tire sizes, list their speed difference in front or rear, and looked from 4 distributors and found about 170 tires that will fit our cars.
The sad part is next - finding matching combos. Out of the 170 I doubt there will be more than about 6 combos.
Stay tuned...it should be posted tonight.

FYI and just so you know, the STX is on my list, but is a SUV/Sport Truck tire. Not saying it's not a good choice, but before you buy make sure you know it's a truck tire.
Again - doesn't mean it won't work well or look nice.

Willie-
I run Nitto's--255/45/18's on the front--and 295/45/18 in the back-- Now of course my rear wheels have been widen but the point here is you can run 255/45's all around if you want on the OEM wheels-----and although Nitto's are directional, I have not had any problems with wear conditions---and the bonus of not having to rotate- rotate--rotate- --just another thought for you to consider--.Tom

The OEM rears on the front seem too big for my taste. We have ruts from heavy/big trucks on our streets and the larger size seems to fight my steering more.
I was surprised how much larger the OEM rears are than the fronts when I had them off and compared them side by side.

Me too.
I can see tire availability becoming a problem for those of us that want to keep this car for a while.
No abs and tc lights, and I'm happy:beer:

Yeah I saw that and thunk about it...but I went in and read the reviews from tire rack and found 3 Impala SSs, Buick Roadmaster, Lincoln Mark VIII, Corvette, Tbird SC and a Mustang Cobra running these tires and they all gave good reviews for the tires and most said they were the best tires they had run on that particular vehicle and were 1/2 the price of other tires ...so I think they are a viable option...OBTW nice tire matrix...thanks...willie

I have the same tires and widened and I am very impressed with the quality and grip of the Nittos. The widened wheels make the car look like it should have when it was stock.
I, too went through the pain of surfing for every combination that would yield the exact same tire size ratio because I have traction control and it is sensitive to wheel/tire size. The Nitto 295/45/18's have almost the exact same diameter as the BFG's.
I love the cool tread pattern and the quiet, smooth ride. A teenie:cool: bit expensive, but well worth it...
