Finally made the 1/4 mile run! After almost 15 months of ownership I had a great time at the test and tune session at San Antonio Raceway. My very first time down a quarter mile track and I was nervous. That first run I had a 1.1290 RT,
2.6488 60FT
7.0765 330FT
10.6163 1/8 @70.51 MPH
13.5889 1,000FT
16.09 1/4 @ 90.13 MPH
I went there on less than a quarter tank of gas and had to fill up after my first three runs. While at the gas station I was going to stop between a quarter and half but as I was looking my car over I forgot about the fuel and filled her up all the way. On the way back to the track I called Cyclone03 and he gave me some helpfull advice, and as a result I got my best time on the next run. The temp also dropped from about 90 on my first run to about 83 on my fourth run.
Run #4 for me:
.7108 RT
2.3613 60FT
6.6424 330FT
10.1358 1/8 @71.38 MPH
13.0773 1000'
1/4 15.5457 @ 91.13 MPH
I have the JLT and the Proguard but thats it and running on 93 gas. Also had a full tank and lots of junk in the trunk, at least a hundred pounds worth.
She tipped the scales at 4375lbs.
Thanks, Mike

OMG, you should have never made that first run. This drag racing thing is like heroin. You know it's no good for you, but you keep doing it anyway. Next, you'll be looking for a tune, then headers, gears, ....then boost. You'll plan your vacations around drag strips. You'll install a short cut to Chasinracin.com. You'll buy a scrapbook to store your timeslips in. You may even end up keeping a total in your signature, which reminds me, I need to add about 30 more to mine.

Don't tell the fleet manager!
Congrats on your first drag racing trip-the more you do it, the more confident you'll become, the more you'll enjoy it.
Quite addiciting.

I hope so, cause I was feelin a little on the slow side. I went head to head against and integra rsx and he got me on a whole shot. Beat me by about half a second. Must have been the slow start I got off the line....forgot to turn off my traction control.

Yeah once you mod you will see a difrence. did you run with drivers headlight in or out? I never saw a difrence when I ran. With all mods listed below I redid the shiftpoints to get my current time. I can't wait til I get gears and drags. My tires are somewhat ok after 26 runs last march. after my 1st victory I couldn't stop going every sunday till I had no days off to go. Proper burnout and proper launch is whats key wit this car. Too high a launch and you spin. Not a decent burnout and you spin.

See, already planning another trip. Before you know it, you'll be joining sanctioning bodies, paying dues for points racing, chasing the FFW events around the country. How do I know this? I'm there. Upside is, my next trip to Texas, I'll look you up for some racing.

No head light out, and the guy at the track said that if you have street tires on you dont need to burn out.

Nice the more you run the better you know your car. When I made my first run it was a 15.9 and now I run 15.10 and it's still basically stock except for my airfilter and a few computer "tunes." :D
