Went to Pocono Raceway this Saturday with EMRA and NEI. It was a blast!!!
I had a little mishap with a pothole in the morning but a very generous NEI (North East Iron) member offered me his Mustang 18" wheels street tires.
Here are a few pictures from the event and the link to all the pictures.

It's definitely not Sebring but it was still a lot of fun.:drive:

We were on the South course.

Longest Straight = 800 ft
Race Direction = Clockwise

It has a bank of about 30 degrees I think. It was pretty steep. That portion is on the right part of the map. The left side of the course is practically flat.
I was able to carry about 95mph into the apex at the bottom of the bank. Some of the Mustang guys were going up to the top of the bank with speeds exceeding 85mph. So his speed coming in/down to the apex was probably about 100-120mph. That Evo was flying. He was able to pass some of the Mustang Fox bodies.
Here is the site that has specs of the cars that run in NEI.

I cannot believe they let people park vehicles that close to the track. Absolutely stupid. there is no way to stop on the grass and dropping off the edge of the pavement at speed is guarenteed to whip the car as we witnessed with the camera car a couple of turns earlier. safety has to be job one at the track and whoever organized this event was sound asleep at the switch. It is a wonder no one was killed. Dennis:cool:

Looks like fun to me too! I would like to try a course like that, less to remember than Sebring!

Yup. :D
I was going to get a new set of front tires but found out I had to drive 35 miles to get them. Then this guy Mike, just came up to me and asked if I wanted to borrow his street wheels. I was shocked and didn't really think the Mustang GT wheels would fit but they did and almost perfect. THey stuck out a just a hair more than mine but his were also 255 and mine were 245.
I would have been decently happy just to take pictures and watch but it was one hell of a day to actually get to run.:D
I'm going back 3 more times to drive on the other courses. There is also 2 special days. One is a Grand Slam event where you drive on all three cousres in one day and the other is a combo course with two of them put together. That's gonna be one long lap. :D I'm going to try to go to Lime Rock in Connecticut too.
Time is not such a big deal. The cost of the events is going to kill me.

I hope they dont let cars park in that area anymore, after watching the EVO off roading experience!
All three, woof woof, all I know is the nearly 4 mile laps at Sebring were huge. It was nice to run all out and not have to worry about traffic too often.
You'll love Lime Rock, I've only ever been a spectator there, but its beautiful. For us flat landers down here the ups and downs throw a whole new dynamic into the mix, I'd love to run Watkins Glen.... in someone elses car....now where is that number for Hertz....

My two timed runs.

The start and finish point is in the infield right where you start to see the cars appearing out of the center after making a hairpin.
