Blue is rare in it's own right--Blue with Black enterior--is VERY RARE----

I am partial to the blue with black enterior--after the silver MM with black enterior ahead of it if I could get them --It would be in that order....-sorry---unless the deal was too good to pass up--........Tom

Blass,
In my view, if color is not a priority for you, I'd go for the Blue one since it's the "rarest" of the "rare".
Individual quantities produced for the 2003 model year are: 328 Blue, 417 Silver, and 7094 Black.
The Blue one at Dorian Ford in Clinton Township is a northern suburb of Detroit, Michigan, and is about 45 minutes from my home. Small world, aye !

Personally, I think it's a great deal, pending a history report. That's just slightly more than I paid for my '03 Silver, and it's blue!

What ^^^^he^^^^said.

Buy the blue, and maybe I'll trade you a DTR (2nd rarest). :D

I finally saw the elusive blue a few months ago. Dayum they are pretty!

Many WTF is that, in store for you.

The blue is a great looking color. Unlike some complaints about black, my blue paint has held up very well. It is unlikely that you will see another one on the road. I still do not know why Ford made such a small amount with this color.

I thought blue with light flint was the rarer than blue with the charcoal interior.

Prices are right, check the carfaxes and have Brian run the VIN for you and if they look ok to you I bet any number of gang here would be willing to take a look in person for you. Based on what they find make an offer on the one you like best. Blue is very rare. Black is classic and has at least a year less mileage depending on your planned use. ? No wrong decision other than buying blind. Good luck. Dennis:beer:

I agree about the blue one. I would prefer that it had the lower miles though. Which one looks cleaner?? Does either one have heated seats and a 6 disc in the trunk?? Either way you will be a happy camper.:D

The prices are pretty good for both of them. I have a black one but wish I had waited for a good blue one to come along. Definitely get the blue one. Good Luck!!

The blue, though having more mileage looks straight and true. It also appears the blue had a less aggressive previous owner. The blue appears cleaner from a care standpoint.

Further, blue IS indeed the rarest and most coveted. In the end, it will boil down to your preference and gut feeling.

Of note, both are 300B or may be 'de-contented' since both appear to have traction control. The blue, however appears to have the full size spare.

Happy shopping!

I see the Black on is $1000 less than the Blue and has over 10,000 less miles too. It would make more sence to get the Black one seeing that, But Like many other's have said The Blue is rare and hard to come by. I for one would still go with the Blue one. Have someone run the vin's on both cars and see what you come up with first.

Blue with Light Flint is actually the rarest according to my conversation with Steve Babcock at MV III. About 200 Blue/Black and ~125 Blue/Light Flint in my estimate.

Search on "production" ..... There's a sticky on it.

Production numbers for the Mercury Marauder:
2003 - 7839 (328 Blue, 417 Silver, rest black .. 7094)
2004 - 3213 (980 DTR, 997 Silver, 1236 Black)
Total production, 03 and 04 was 11,052

No regrets with my Blue. I've never seen a clean Marauder of any hue that isn't very sharp, but I've found that my Blue turns more heads than our Guards Red Porsche 911 Cab. Gotta love Blue!

I wanted black, ended up with blue. It was the only one I called on that hadn't been sold already. I had not discovered mm.net at that time, had no clue it was a rare color.

The blue one looks great and the price seems good. I would try to go for that one. If I only had the means I would be all over a blue Marauder.:bows:

same story . i looked at red and a black on the same day and the black had check engine lite on . plus i liked the red and it was a year newer although 3k more in price. i didnt know mm.net existed.
i was clueless , but it worked out in the end . btw , blue gets my vote!!

Well, I bought the blue one. Thanks to all for your help. Now I just need to have it shipped here and find someone in this area to do the gear change.
