That's right, Canary yellow Charger Daytona R/T. "Private Track" between 2 towns. 15 miles of nothing. Me and the R/T have been chasing a rabbit,(Trailblazer SS) for a couple miles now. Nothing retarded, just faster than everyone else. We got nothing to prove at this point. We all know we can do 100+ if we want.

I know a light is coming up soon, BINGO. It goes red for us. We get in front of the SS, (he's got no shot with either of us), to see what is what.

I load the TC to about 2500, these street tires just don't hold like slicks:(
Light goes green and I got the jump. :burnout: I won't lie and say I wasted him. I got out front first from the go and stayed there. Never a whole car length, more like my rear wheel even with his front bumper. It was a straight pull to about 80 when I let off. I don't know what would have happened if I kept on it, I'm guessing the HEMI might have got me eventually. I can't really test that until I get a new driveshaft. I got the shakes since the new gear install.

Oh yeah, the SS (collateral damage) eventually blew by both of us at 100+.
He was way in the rearview from the light, guess he was pissed the SS didn't have more for both of us.:nono:

Best part. No Spray needed. Just installed the ZEX and didn't use it.:nos:

Enjoyed a nice drive home in the 3rd position. My work was done.

Ate one of those SS things for a snack on I90 last Sunday.

I raced my Marauder against a Hemi 300c before the supercharger when my car was a very low 14 second ride. We raced 3 times up to about 100 and pretty much the same result, I would get almost a car on him and pretty much keep it there up to 100.
Stock converter, stock exhaust, stock rear tires.

A REAL HEMI only has 2 valves per cylinder.
At high RPMs they can't catch their breath.

Good Kill !!!

I got one of these stalking my neighborhood.
Time to put Lidio's tune to the test !!!

Like drinking....you have to do it in moderation. Just be careful. Nice kills, the Charger and the SS. Naturally he would not have caught up had you stayed in it.

sounds like it was a good run. I like it when the Marauder is on top.

I agree.

If this was at the Mall or in town. No way. I'm sure most of us only pull out the diesel at the right time. It was just too hard to pass up a chance at the R/T.:coolman:

We could race every day if we wanted. I feel fine with letting people blow by. The people who have it, don't always have to prove it.

Weigh the variables, road conditions, points of entry for traffic, chance of pedestrians, likliehood of John Law, chances to pull out in an emergency like shoulders or multiple lanes etc etc. If all of those are low risk, I feel okay. But I recognize that not all people share the same feelings on risk. Yes Mr Murphy can be anywhere, but he can just as easily show up at the stoplight you are sitting at and BANG. I won't go by the what if.

I have a 2006 Charger Daytona and it ran a 14.2 at 101 MPH on a nice cool Day. There not that fast. Not after driving a blown Marauder but they are a nice everyday car.

That surprises me. Aren't these things rated at like 450 HP? I figured faster than that, even stock.

Ross,

That is the Beastly SRT-8. 425hp rated and runs high 11's - low 12's. Nice beast but it is a DODGE.....Nuff said.

Out here in LA, I lift at 60. To many accidents and cars if you drive faster
than the 35 MPH limit. Also, the roads are really in bad condition.

No, the Daytonna package just adds a cat backs system and louder mufflers to a regular 5.7 hemi.

Taking out a Chevy and a Dodge at once - cool!!
Doing it at a "private track." - very cool!!
Starting your post with this comment - PRICELESS!!!

Dan,
Love the sig!:D

Keep it on the street......

This is my best kill to date. Got me a Camaro SS, some Hondas and an Escalade. Haven't been spanked on a "private track" yet. Lots of losses on the real track, damn 12 second Mustangs..

After reading my post a few times I figured I was a little rough at the beginning. But some people will never agree with you, and I am too old to hear a lecture. I thought I would nip it in the bud. I love the guys on this board, and I respect their opinions........

but you know what the nuns would say....

nothing nice to say......

DON'T SAY ANYTHING

Posting street racing stories on focaljet would get you tossed out of the forum...

I believe the SRT charger is rated at 425hp. Now that might be a challenge.

Met a guy that ran the Cannon Ball with one, 425 at the crank.

My guess is that is is another car forum. Based on the rule cited I would probably consider it lame. :)

On the other hand, it might be fun to go over there with the "private track" concept and see how far I could taunt them with it.

23,000? Wow.

How can that many people enjoy an automotive enthusiasts forum without any private track stories. :)

Haven't been there much since buying my MM. Any type of non sanctioned racing threads were deleted and poster put on notice. I'm sure it had a lot to do with the forum owner not wanting lawsuits generated his way if Joe Dope croaked himself street racing and 500 threads of that type were on his computer from focaljet.

Dan! You mean to tell me that people actually do stuff like that???:depress: LOL It knocks me out to see people who get caught or hurt, blame everyone around, but the person who did the deed.

Ideas come from all over, your actions are your responsibility...Period:coolma n:

Now that I am through venting. Rock on lead foot brother...Give em he!!

PS: I may be up in Farmington CT the end of July (May even drive up) Would love to connect the CT crew if you have an event planned around that time in the Metro Hartford area.

Problem is the "responsible party" is now deceased and their family is looking for someone to blame.

Dan

Yeah, I can understand that. This country is way too liberal when it comes to anyone beign able to sue anyone for any reason.

I guess we have found yet another reason to use "private tracks."

Best,

Dan
