Well heres how it goes.... my moms friends husband came over to take pictures of the 350 small block I'm selling on ebay later and he brought his 1991 Vette. He said he doesn't like much except Chevys, but loves my Marauder. So he took me for a ride in the Vette and I was kinda surprized as to how fast it wasn't. So he asked me if he thought my Marauder was faster. I said on the highway I bet I take you because of the way my car downshifts. He told me he had a radar detector and the deal was done.
Soon as we got back to my place I told him we'll race from 40-90, honk 3 times and we'll race. So we get rolling, honk 3 times and I took him by 3 car lengths and by the time I reached 95 when the car goes to shift he slowly passed. I was very surprized how well I did. I love this car more everyday! :awe:

Didn't want to try him off the line?
Get some grip and a good launch and he's yours.
Just cause people have fast cars doesn't mean they can launch them right.:nono:

Cool, bro. I smoked a 2001 Vette a while ago, but Im supercharged. What kind of HP does a 91 Vette have? Was it a manual, or an auto?
With all your cool stories, you should get an onboard camera to film your escapades. They would keep us entertained, no doubt.

To answer your questions his car was auto and yes I did try him off the line. He couldn't hook up, but as soon as he did I was toast. I left that out of course, but as long as you asked I will tell. I had another story to tell you guys about, but I think that would have ticked off some people on here so I kept that one to myself and one other. Maybe I'll mention it later. Lets put it this way, I was alone it and was midnight, but I probably ticked off hundreds of people in the matter of 1 minute.

He couldn't hook up with 245 Horsepower and wideazz tires? Ouch...

PM it to me.
Does it involve loud exhaust in a small neighborhood with car alarms?

Torque is torque, and the tuned port injection system on those cars delivers a good whallop off idle.
Even a well maintained 100% stock 305 TPI with a 3.23 rear and good grippy tires in a heavy GTA will do this on a 3/4 throttle launch. Imagine the torquier 350.

Details: about 3/4 throttle launch with a slight move to about 7/8 throttle after the 1-2 upshift... full throttle upshifts occur a few ticks past redline for me. The 350 might have pulled harder off the line but you would probably have seen it get breathless past 4000 RPM instead of the 4800+ RPM where the same condition occurs on a 305 (the runners were designed for the 305 from the start, not the 350, so the 350 is a bit strangled above 4000).
