OK just therorizing here...:D
Suppose you install you new Ford Racing 4:10 gear...
and suppose when you take your Marauder in for service, you use your Xcalalibrator to reset the chip to stock settings...
How would the Dealer's shop technician know that you had a 4:10 gear?
I have found that they see so few Marauders that they really don't know much about them...
Now I'm not talking about trying to sneak by a major service warranty item...like a busted axle here...that's when you pay for your fun..that's nobody's responsiblility but yours....
So, the question is...Do you think the service guy would catch it...
or for that matter care?
Just wondering what your thoughts might be on this....

They'd have to either remove the cover and count the teeth, or spin the wheels and count D/S revs. Unless you were in for some axle-related failure, they'd never know (or care).

I don't see how they would know unless they did as stated above.

They could drive by a speed poster that are setup around here in Massachusetts. The police place them on the side of the road, its a radar unit with the speed limit sign on it gives your speed when passing. If the tech test drives it they could notice the speedometer off by 10-12 miles hr and look into it further but I dont think so.

Anybody that drives the detuned car, will probably notice the speedo is way off.

What ^^^he^^^said. The speedo would be way off and the tranny would shift up the gears really quick. But...if they only drove it in and out of the service shop without going for a test drive they probably won't notice.

I would carefully choose my service provider. Many are very mod friendly, some are not. Maybe you could let us know where you reside and some of us might have recommendations. Good luck.

I think leaving the correct tune for the 4:10's would attract far less attention...

But when they hook up the Marauder to their computer won't it detect the revised settings on the chip....?

I guess it depends on what is in for, I have never had a dealer hook up a reader to my port for any warranty repair, because my warranty repairs have been the following:

Power window motor.
Fan Speed control module.
Rear shock.

Unless you get a tech. that likes to play with his toys...:D
