View Full Version : Stalling Issues

It's happened to me 3 times in the past 2 months now. I come to a stop and my MM just chokes out! I put it in park, re-start it and am off again.
It happened to me again today. I got off the Interstate and came to a stop at the traffic light. Next thing I know, battey light is on and the car is stalled!
Anyone have any pointers to diagnosing this one?
Thanks

Sounds like the idle air controller (IAC) valve might be gunked up. It's on the front side of the throttle body. You might pull it and see if its dirty or has carbon buildup. It seems like it goes on supercharged cars faster, but you never know. Mine went at about 40k miles.

IAC valve. They seem to go on these cars all the time. ;) Mine is gone and have yet to replace it (Sorry Ray - I'll get that check to you sooner or later :D).

Before replacing a part, and I agree the IAC is the most likely culprit. Try cleaning throttle body blade with a spray that is SAFE for coated TB's, I cleaned mine and it never stalled again.
