Had the gears, tc, stat, plugs, intake, rear sway bar (addco screwed up and sent me 2 rears instead of front and rear) control arms, and dennis' tune installed over the weekend. Picked up the car in driving rain and heavy traffic, so I didn't get to really see what was what...but the difference was immediately noticable.

The car finally drives and feels like it looks, if that makes any sense.

The mods and tune really woke it up.

The suspension mods really tightened it up.

It feels tight and aggressive, in a brand new way. The gears do make a different and slightly louder 'whine' or 'howl,' but I like the noise -- more aggressive -- and it's nothing a little Sabbath or Soundgarden can't cure if I get tired of it.

I'm a very happy man and love my 'new car.'

Thanks Dennis. And thanks MM.net....

Congrats Matt - you'll love it all. Although the gears are not "Supposed" to make that noise :P

I second that, on the gears. should not make any sound when backlash has been done correctly. unless they are used gears. sounds like ur gettin er-done!

Oh yeah, didnt you have a problem with that a while back? I remember the thread.

Congrats on the mods. Thats alot at once...you probably dropped over a second off your ETs. Now all you need is exhaust and youre set!

I still do, I just have a louder whine to cover it up now :D

Well, today was crystal clear and dry, so I got to get on it a little bit.

Sure is nice to be able to drive around without the OD off just to get it to jump. Less pedal, more power. I'm digging it.

The car is noticably pushing a lot more now, but I like the tighter suspension and it will just take some adjustment on my part. I'm sure it will dial in as soon as the front sway bar gets put on...

As far as the 'whining' or 'howling' gears...I realized I haven't really listened to the car in a long time. What I'm really hearing is the intake (?) I believe. There's definitely some kind of sound coming from the rear end, but I honestly can't tell if it's the new gears, or if it has always sounded like that.

Now I definitely need exhaust, but need to make the right choice - can't get around the o2 sensors and the smog check out here in Cali...

Be real careful with your new setup-especially in the rain. Getting 4400 pounds sideways is even easier now than before!
