Just wanna know what everyone has gotten their cars up to. Mine went 125 on the limiter, but I disabled it and went 136 and the car was still pulling. I had no radar detector and this was at 2 in the afternoon. Yes just another crazy story of mine. What about you guys?

65mph just like the sign says, Officer.
70 on I-95 when posted.
Speed kills. Wear a seatbelt. Drive defensively. Watch out for the other guy. Take it to the track. Slow down, save a life.

Hey now that's mine... I'm gonna make it say somethin else... "I shave Rider90's n*ts***"
All of the below occurred on a private track...
142, summer 2005, GPS verified in the Marauder.
150, early 90's, in a Mustang 5.0.
140, early 00's in an 87 BMW 325e (this run was on a long downhill.)
100, 2004, on the front straight of Lime Rock Park in a 2.0 liter track car.
130, May, 2006, on an '05 Ducati Monster 800 while showing up some helmetless Harley guy on a V-Rod. He got shocked but gave a thumbs up just the same.
NOT on a private track...
Best trip time...Danbury, CT to Cookville, TN - 875 miles, 9 hours with gas stops. :)

105 front straight, 120 back Straight at Sebring in the Marauder. She had a lot more but stock brakes got really funky fast on the 17 turn 3.7 mile track. Porsche turbos (3) at Watkins Glen all north of 150 on front straight and Carrara 996 cab north of 140 on private track (once) They were all easy as the only concern with faster was the closing speed to traffic. I know Porsche sucks but there is no mass producted car more rewarding to drive near the limit.

I have no idea, but the speedo needle was all the way around to 5:30 o'clock, left the Gps on the boat so who knows how accurate the speedo would be at that speed, but there was plenty left in the Cobra motor and we went back to the dyno to see how accurate the speedo and dyno calibrated togther, they were in sink, but I still do not know what 6 o'clock is in real mph without a Gps. I have 3:55 gears and a detuned Cobra motor (still, with lots of mods) with 528rwh.Without a gps I'm just fartting in the wind. Tom

I've gone faster on my motorcycle than anything else.
Marauder I probably topped it at around 100. I tend to drive it like gramps because I wouldn't mind getting it to 200,000+ miles w/o any serious mechanical issues.
But I agree with what some have said on here. Drive safe!

Somewhere between 140-150 MPH on the Autobahn in Germany. About 140 is the wake up and drive point. The wind takes on a differnt sound, and you better be paying attention to what is going on a mile ahead. :)

Is that possible? I thought that you couldn't go past warp 10 because if you did, you'd be faster than the speed of light and be everywhere simultaneously or something like that. :dunno:

When I had the Kawasaki 750 back in '83 I had the 135 mph speedometer well-pegged so I guestimate 150. My buddy Mark came around me in his '68 Fairlane GTX, so he was probably doing 160. It had a Fred Jones rebuilt 428 SCJ, hi-rise Edelbrock manifold bolted to the medium-riser heads, Holley 650 double pumper, Hooker headers. That car ate everything in the county for light snacks.
I'd had Quicksilver up to the speed limiter just a few days after I got it, 120 or so. Smooth as glass then. Next week I'll have the MMX installed along with the QA1 shocks and springs and I'll get the guy to set the suspension 1/2" lower all around. Maybe I'll see what she can do then. SR 64 has a long stretch about 4 miles long with good visibility (field of fire) and it's not too bad a place to do that kind of thing if the time of day is good. I'll be doing some high-speed hard braking tuning on the new shocks anyways.
105 steady for about 10 miles once with a short run up to 120 catching up to the guy I was following on I-294 north of Chicago. Stock MM and it felt like there was a bit more pedal left.

This was in an Audi in 1991. 155 MPH on a paved, flat, straight, dry, county road in Iowa on Xmas day 1991. We had two way radios and cars positioned at each end of the road so the only death would have been mine.
Took 2.5 miles to get to that speed. still pulling but no more safe road to keep going.

167MPH (as indicated by GPS; about the "R" in Marauder). I-80 westbound, about 25 miles west of Salt Lake City, east of Winnemucca (and the Nevada state line). About 4:00PM, Summer of 2003. Clear day, dry road, not an animal or living soul around - either parked, driving, or entombed. And if you've driven there, LOTS of runoff (nothing but a hundred miles of salt flats on both sides of the road). With the A/C on and the tunes cranked up.

119 in 93 T-Bird (My cash beater after selling Lexus for a loss cause I couldn't afford NJ insurance on the Lexus)
136 in my MM before the gears. Now the shake is too bad until new shaft.
All top speeds posted on I-95 except for MM on AC Expressway.

I'll give you one. :)
So far, all of my "antics" have started with the last car and ended with teh next one. What I mean is that I don't believe in passing cars when my speed is outside of a certain range of theirs.
Trucks are worse. They can talk to each other.
Anyway, when I'm "tapping triples" I'll usually bring my speed down to 15-20 over what other traffic is doing should I need to pass a vehicle.
Note that I am only telling you how I do it. Not how you should do it. I'm nobody but a 41 year old guy who has never stopped loving speed like I did when I was your age. :)
Keep the pedal down, kid, but use that noggin' of yours, too.
Best,
Dan

Similar story January 1976 on the autobahn between Munich and Garmisch, 120 mph (speedo pegged) in a Charger SE. No GPS verification back then. Got flashed once by something approaching from the rear. Was long and black .... maybe blue ... with a very high pitched whine as it went past. Could have been a Lamborghini -- never got that good of a look at it. He had to be up over 180 easy.... and was gone in a second or two.
About 10 years later in March 1985 on the autobahn between Berchtesgaden and Munich, I managed to do 210 kph (about 130 mph) in a Mercedes 300E for a short period. I backed off cause I felt more like I was aiming and less like I was driving.
