Has anyone used the Mothers Powerball on our clear coated wheels? I was out doing my F-150's Chrome wheels and thought of doing it to the Merc wheels but too afraid of messing them up.

I've been looking at the powerball too, how'd the F-150 wheels turn out?

The powerball makes a lot of sense for any wheel that isn't clear coated. Aluminum, especially, would be ideal for the powerball. Using the powerball on our wheels will not make it shine more than if you did it by hand, and our wheels are very easy to clean in the first place.

Just keep thinking the wheels have the same clearcoat as your Marauder's paint.

My 2cents: I have the power ball and used it on the tourqe thrust on my Fairlane and the MM wheels and it did a great job, brought out a higher shine especially from sitting for a while.:D

Rider90 is right. I would go real easy with the Powerball. I have used them on my wheels, applied it very lightly. I didn't want to harm the clearcoat. Did do a nice job of cleaning them up though. IMO If you go real easy and they will be fine.

I bought a powerball when they first came out. Broke it out of the package and decided it was too abrasive for the clearcoated OEM wheel. Took it back for a refund without trying it on anything.

I have the Powerball too. Tried it once and decided it didn't shave much time off manual buffing with any appreciable difference to make it worth the effort. Now it sits on the "great idea but so so performance" shelf.

Powerball is GREAT for keeping the headlights polished.

I use the powerball on my wheels with GREAT results. I use a plain old spray wax/polish as the lubricant that you would generally use on your car for a quick cleanup at a carshow or something. It is not as abrasive with that...

I had a lot of small scratches and marks on my wheels before I started using it, and they just wouldn't come out real well. Then I used the powerball, and the wheels look basically new again. And all in about 1 minute per wheel.

I recommend it, as long as you use something VERY mild as the lubercant like I do. I think I am using the Meguires Detail Spray lately...

I actually used my Porter Cable to do my wheels, it came out great.

Ditto that with a microfiber followup for the nooks and crannies.
