Nice little story on the way to work today.

Lately there have been those donation-seeking individuals walking through lanes at red lights looking to gain support for some charity. I flagged one down today (He had M&M Peanuts!) and gave him a fiver, he said I'm a big guy and need two bags - ok, I won't argue - two it is. He told me to have a wonderful day and thank you and so on so he kept walking. His buddy hollers from the other lane over, I didn't hear what, but the same man came to my window and said "My boy wants to know what kind of power this Marauder has" I replied "Well I'm around 460" and he yells to his friend, "460!" Seeing his friend's gawking face I drop it in neutral and give it some revs. They both got that fat kid in a candy store smile. He said "Beautiful car!" and walked to his friend. The light was going on green so he got to the sidewalk with his friend and they both proceeded to look at the Marauder, so I gave myself some room and goosed it for them. I don't think I left any marks but I their heads lowered and shoulders raised when they heard the Supercharger whine - as well as a grin from ear to ear.

Funny thing is there was a black Marauder in the lane next to me a couple cars back, I'm pretty sure I had his attention too :baaa:

:beer: Good on ya Rider. Giving to Charity and putting the smiles on faces of the kids, the big one included, that is what I call giving back.

Jason;

Kinda makes you glad you did all those mods. In one fell swoop you gave to a worthy charity, impressed the public with Marauder looks and power and represented to another Marauder. That's a A+.

i hope it was for a worthy cause. I have personally seen these "insert excuse here" panhandlers doing a shift change at a major intersection here in Dallas. (a van pulls up and the 4 poor souls on the corner with all the loot jump in and 4 new ones jump out)

at least you got some M&M's out of it I guess.

Oh man i cannot WAIT until I get back from my planned trip to Kansas City and F.I.T., I had a similar thing happen to me TWICE now and I've actually felt sheepish admitting that it's the "Stock 303hp, no mods", but both times I got complimented and both times (one was volunteer firemen of Schroon Lake, NY on 4th of July and the other one was some school band and NEITHER time did i get M&M's for my MM, just a paper rose and the 2nd time BUPKIS) and gave them both a buck. I dont think I would have even gotten them up to the window if it weren't for the MM, I am not someone you approach casually based on looks and ask for money unless you have a gun and you think it's bigger than the one I must have tucked away in the leather jacket LOL Man i cannot wait until I can tell them "450" and mean it ... give or take ... :)
