OK guys heres the deal,
A couple of weeks ago I took the MM out to the local track for a couple of shakedown passes.
The mods at that time were:
SCT tune by Lidio, U.D. Pulleys, K&N CAI.
Results were 14.937 E.T. at 93.645 MPH
60 ft. 2.279
Humid 78 degrees, Fatory rear tires at 40PSI
Fast forward to this week with the addition of 4.10:1 gears and SCT retune for the speedo.
New E.T. 14.515 at 95.268 MPH
60 ft. 2.140
Which means either the gears (or the motorsport aluminum cover:)) is worth a little over 4 tenths.
Temps were about the same 74 degrees humid.
Tires still at 40 PSI.
The car goes throough the lights at 5000 RPM.
Still seems a bit lazy off the line and down low.
Is this about right for these mods or should I expect more?
And i'm wondering if adding the P.I. 3000 converter at this point will just create a traction problem with the factory tires.:o
Opinions please.

With my Reinhart chip, underdrive pulleys, and 4:10s, stock air filter, my car went 14.20 in about 80 degree weather. The converter is going to be worth at least 2-3 tenths assuming it hooks, I think you should be able to hook well enough with a little practice. The converter made a huge difference even after I went with a supercharger.

I have my convertor in my possesion, I havent installed it yet. There are numerous members that have claimed almost .07 tenths of their E.T's (Traction pending)

I would recommend the converter to everyone.

My MM with your mods plus a PI TC ran a 13.95 in the 1/4 mile with street tires and with an average driver at the wheel.

You already have the 410's, so my guess would be at least another.3-.5. I ran a 14.05 with 3.73's, tc and a tune in humid SFL. No intake mods so she suffers at the end.

You could always spray it. Good for 13.2-13.7.

For the TC go w/ 3,500.
There are no driveability issues with the TC 3,500.
Lowering your 60ft times and adding a converter on stock tires is a combination at will yield you a low 14-second ET. You will need an upgraded exhaust to find a home consistently in the 13-second range. Keep in mind that good track prep is your friend and cool air.

Merc,
Bootsie Collins, BOOTSIE COLLINS....wow...where did you find that one....back to the topic at hand...you are pretty much on the mark with your mods...I ran a 14.3 with all the listed goodies...same as you and since then I run 14.6's back to back. Exhaust and TC install are pending green back influx. But you are right on the money.

Help me out here, but with a 3000TC the engine goes to 3000rpm before the tires engage. Is that right? Then I'm curious that a 3500 will lower the 1/4 time.
And doesn't a TC increase heat to the trans therefore increasing wear and tear?
Thanks, always looking for info.

From what I have read on pages on this Board, The 3000 TC can be safely run with the stock tranny cooler, the 3500 stall will run a bit hotter and a tranny cooler would be a safe bet.
This question has been raised about the difference between the 3000 stall and the 3500 stall and NOBODY has proven that a 3500 stall would improve your E.T's over a 3000 Stall.
I use my car as a daily driver and I would rather aid on the side of caution so I went with the 3000 stall and I will install a upgraded tranny cooler down the road.

Bootsie's Rubber Band!
Last time I saw Bootsie was on the Standing in the Shadows of Motown DVD (highly recommended!!). He was up there with the legends bangin' away.

Back to original post, I've seen threads here recommending 28 psi for the back tires (factory) for 1/4 mile. Why the 40?

I had the 3,000. A member that has done extensive testing told me h reduced his 60' by 2 tenths by going from 3,000 to 3,500.
I went with the 3,500 and I am happy with it.
Look at my 60' time.

Was this done before or after the S/C install?? Im looking for info on the difference of the 3000 stall vs the 3500 stall on a N/A Marauder

It's just that 40 psi is what I normally run in my every day driving.
When I start to fine tune I will most likely drop down to between 24 and 28 Psi as some have suggested.

The 3,000 Stall was N/A and the 3,500 was S/C
The member that recc had both on a S/C. The 2/10's reduction in 60' was on an S/C.
I think the OEM trans Cooler is more than adequate.
If you go with an after market trans cooler you should remove the OEM trans cooler. This will require cutting off and remounting on the front sway bar the power steering cooler which is attached to the bottom of the OEM Trans cooler.
