MM & AVIATOR acceleration facts

the AVIATOR is quick because it has a 5 speed automatic and 3.73 rear axle ratio versus the MM 4 speed with a 3.55 and tall 55 series on 18s. if we had the 5 speed it would make a world of difference. in 1st my speed hits 50 mph before upshifting to 2nd and winds that gear out til 90 mph before she shifts to 3rd. that is a mighty wide ratio. maybe the 04 MM will have the 5 speed. does the 2003 lincoln towncar have it?

jo - I don't think FMC will put a five speed auto trans in the 2004 MM. They are looking for ways to save money and the five speed would be more costly. John
