Lidio, what is a good gear for the car, 4:10 or 4:30. I was thinking 4:30. It will not be on the highway that much. Going to run the nitto's 305/45.

4.10 seems to be most common, but a few have gone up to 4.56 gears. I haven't done them yet myself.

Sorry for the late reply.

Most MM guys that do change the gear in them tend to lean toward 4.10's over all. Personally I think 4.10's and certainly 3.73's should have come stock in the MM because of its weight and rear tire diameter. But like every thing else, the factory has to worry about NVH's and MPG's. All the guys who I've done 4.10s for go on to admit that its not at all to steep for the MM's and should have done it sooner. Bigger gears like 4.30's and 4.56's are less popular but not out of place in especially a MM... once again because of its weight and large rear tire diameter. We put 4.10's in automatic 4.6L Mustangs regularly and they only have about 25.5" to 26" tall tires and weight only about 3600lbs with a driver. Where as MM's weight about 4400 with a driver and the rear tire is about 28.5" tall. So 4.10's are really quite at home in the MM's and if the intent is to stay NA on a MM and to try to squeeze as much as you can while NA I'd really lean toward 4.56's.

Thanks

Thanks, Lidio. It's likely that I will never see a supercharger on Blue Thunder, but quite possible to add gears and torque converter upgrades as years pass.
