LINK TO REGISTER! (http://www.mollyguard.com/event/30892400)

The Motor City Marauders are hosting our 3rd Annual Woodward Dream Cruise Event for 2006. We have secured parking in the same lot as last year, the BK lot across the street from Dugan's Irish Pub.

We are sharing the lot this year with the IMOA, so space will be limited. We only have room for 35 Marauders this year, so do not delay. Spots will be awarded first pay first serve. If all spots are taken, we will start a waiting list, as there is a possibility of more spaces becoming available.

Come on out and enjoy the largest outdoor car show in the world!!

Don't forget to reserve your hotel room at the special rate!

Thanks for the news post Dave! Everything is set to go.

BTW, BK freshly resurfaced the lot this year, so things will be in great shape. We are also working out some details for other bells and whistles like event shirts, drinks at BK, etc, etc. Although this is much scaled down from last year's MVIII, things are turning ourt nicely :)

Mike,

I will be there occupying a couple of spaces. It's great to see Big Joe P coming along. I had a great time in Chicago meeting Joe, his wife, the great people at the EXIT, Bradley, Steve, Leonard, etc.

We need to schedule a visit to the EXIT when we go to Joliet in July.

See ya!

Right now we have 22 cars coming, and space for about another 10 to 12 more. We also have about 10 members (plus guests) coming to WDC without thier cars. Nice turnout so far for a scaled down regional event :)

Simply put, the IMOA did not have enough interest from their members. Its not totally shocking though. Besides the Marauder crowd, the IMOA is an "older" group with priceless classics. It does not shock me that many of them did not want to drive their precious trophy cars into the chaos that is the WDC. Many probably did not know how well organized and safe the event in our lot really is.

I'll find out form Jerry Barnes (regional IMOA guy) what the intentions are for their portion of the lot. I'll see what we can do to get other non marauders parked in the BK lot. Stay tuned.

Thanks for the update! Man, I hope the IMOA sends me my $75 back, at least!

Fortunately Eliot's Meteor is not a priceless classic, but a partly-finished street brauler, so we'll show up regardless. Even if I have to camouflage it as a Marauder to sneak it in!:D

Welcome aboard John!

Right now we have 25 spots are sold and there is definite room for at least 5 more cars. Once we hit 30 spots, we'll re-work the layout and see if we can fit more. Dave and I think we can fit 35 with a smart layout.

Mike,

I just got off the phone this morning with Jerry Robbin of the IMOA.

The IMOA will be at the Burger King lot for the WWDC, Friday night and all day Saturday.

However, they only have about 12 cars confirmed (including Eliot's), so I'm guessing they'll have extra spaces to sell, perhaps back to the Marauder side of things.

Jerry Robbin told me that he has been communicating through Jerry Barnes, so I think Jerry Barnes would be a good person to contact regarding the latest news involving the IMOA.

Joe, I would reccomend that you get there as early as possible, it gets busy early. I think we get there around 8 am to get set up by 9 am. You will have a spot reserved, so that shouldnt be a concern. If you want to come in friday, there may still be rooms at the Hampton.

I know I post this yesterday, but I'll post it again...

I will not be able to make it with the timing too close to finish my project. If someone wants to buy my slot in the lot, PM me and I'll let you have mine!

If you need a hotel room in the guest hotel, also PM me as I'll let it go as a "package deal" to a fellow Marauder owner.

If I get no takers, I'll just have to drive my POS mustang out and park it with Y'all!

Cheers

What's going on Friday night? Capers?
Give me a good reason to come out there early....
Maybe a BigSlim VS BigJoeP bowling match?... (handicapped of course)

Joe, Friday night is one of the best nights on Woodward. They start our early in the week and each night builds in numbers of cars cruising Woodward. We have the lot to ourselves Friday night as well as Saturday, so everyone will be out there Friday night hanging out and cruising. There are several great resturants and watering holes nearby as well. Trust me, its well worth the nights stay on Friday night. That will let you get a good nights sleep, get up around 7:30 or so, the Hampton Inn puts on a really good breakfast buffett, then its 10 minutes to Woodward and the BK. Just something to think about....

Hey, Dave-are we set-up for fountain drinks like we were last year?

Should I bring my MVIII mug?

YES, bring that mug! Like Mike said, we will have unlimited fountain drinks Friday night and all day Saturday at the cruise. I cannot emphasize how great this perk is. No need for COOLERS to take up valuable space and trip over. Just walk in, and help yourself to anything at their self serve drink station, pop, tea, juice, etc. Last year we built in the $3 dollar tab for this perk into the registration price and paid Burger King directly. This year however you will need to pay BK yourselves, the cost is still $3, can you believe that?! It is an awesum thing.

It is important to note, the ONLY way to participate in this offer is to have the white/black event thermo mug from last years MVIII. You will not be able to refill any other cup or glass, this was made VERY clear to us. Their managers and crew know about the offer and the mug they are looking for, anything else and they will ask you to pay for the drink individually. For those that have your mug from last year, bring it! For those that dont, I have 8 or 9 left that you can buy at Woodward this year. Let me know, the mugs will go fast.
