I just got my Xcal2 SF that I order from DR (thanks Dennis!) and what a difference in the shifting. Now the question I have is how do I do the "user adjustbilty" stuff? I need to correct my speedo due to 2 flat rear tires and getting 235/50's to replace them. I figure I will have to download something from sctflash.com but I want to make sure I'm dl'ing the right program to do so.

I am not sure if that is a user adjustable options. Call Dennis up, and ask him.

Yeah I just called him up and he said I don't have the user adjustment file and he would send me a new file with the correct tire size to correct my speedo.

I've tried adjusting the tire sizes myself from a few of Dennis' tunes he emailed to me. My opinion is that SCT's XTreme Tune sw doesn't show what the current settings in the xtr file are. When I've loaded any xtr file into it and open the option to make customizations, the software didn't default to the gear ratios, tire sizes, speed limiter settings, etc that came w/ the tune. Unless I'm missing something the free SCT tune software worries me.
I recently contacted Dennis about my tire size change and A/F affects from my CAI on my mileage. He was sincerely cautious of changing A/F mixtures w/o having the car on a dyno, and he sent me a new tune w/ enough adjustment to set my mileage back to par - based on the mods I had.

These screenshots were after I changed my stock tires to Toyo Proxes ST 255/50/18 VR18.
Notice anything odd? SCT software doesn't even pull in the tire sizes from the xtr file.

4.10 gears tune

and why would the 4.10 tune hide stock as an option (unless it is a forced option by the tuner I guess). Still it's a little odd that the XTreme tune software doesn't hold consistency or pull in reliable information, such as the tire sizes in the tune. SCT's forums are difficult to follow on their free tuning software for the XCal2. I think they must spend more of their development time on the Pro Racer & Advantage software. esp w/ the XCal2 on the old product list since they released the Strategy Flash device I guess.

The Free Software is just that. If you want to adjust and "tune" yourself, you need to get one of the Pro Applications.

PS - And yes, the Tuner can most likely "hide" whatever they want, no matter which Tuner you use

DR sent me the user end file or whatever I needed to being able to adjust things and now I am able to adjust tire size(revs per mile) shift firmness, spark, etc etc. The one thing that still puzzles me is why is my traction control kicking on at 45-50mph again? I thought with adjusting the revs per mile it would correct that? Granted I know most ppl dont have traction control or usually turn it off but I normal drive with it on just for safety reasons like if I hydroplane or just hit something slick. Anyone else out there running 235/50 all around and have a Xcal2 SF?

If you have same size front and rear tires, the TC will kick in. The cars computer want to see a 5% difference front and rear. It can tolerate down to 2% but not 0%. The 5% difference is for the stock diameter size tires difference front and rear.

so regardless of changing the revs per mile which corrects the speedo theirs nothing I can do besides just turning it off when I start the car untill I get some 255/55 kdw2?

Yes. Correcting the speedo for tire size is a good thing but if you use same size tires, iTs a different issue like we said before. I use winter setup tires that are the same front and rear and turn the switch to off routinely on start up in the winter. No ill effect.

Someone has even asked about turning off traction control with the tuner and Lidio response was that it causes more problems than anything.
Turning it off is habitual for me now.

Any user end tuning tips for N/A cars? I've only touched the shift % firmness but would like to do a little more when I run at the drag strip.
