This is really very frustrating. I purchased a "real" oil gauge to swap out for the OEM gauge. I followed the instructions like here on MM.net from Wes. Thank you. I get it hooked up and it works.:D Cool. In checking the light, I notice it does not work. So...........I change the bulb. No big deal. Put it all back together and the light works.:D Cool. But the gauge does NOT now.:( NOT cool. I take the gauge out and realize one of the ring fasteners broke and contacted one of the other wires. There was a little notice of "something" right then. I realized later that my inst cluster was not working, Tach, warning lights, etc. The fuse blew. Change it and still no gauge.:( So...I figure I cooked the gauge. I have checked ALL connections on the gauge and the sending unit. I ordered another gauge. It came today.:D Go to install the gauge. I do and to my surprise it still does NOT work.:( I then change the sending unit as well and recheck all connections too. Still no go. I pulled every fuse in the box by the left knee area, all ok.

Does anyone have any ideas here. I feel like there must be some other separate fuse somewhere. My Trilogy boost gauge works that replaced the volt meter as does the cig lighter. Just the oil gauge is out. It reads zero. And yes there is oil. I just changed it and also checked it. Anyone, anyone, ideas or similar issues with suggestions would definitely be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.............:D

Have you tested the power / ground leads with a 12v tester?

Good call. I don't have one but am going to get one today. I'm curious to see what it says.

Light works when guage doesn't and vice versa I'd look at
the ground wire/connection..fuse probably shorted power con.
during re/re. gauge should still be good..Ohm-meter should give
you a resistance reading or hook guage to battery with test lite
and/or fuse in series with guage..should move (this is assuming
it is a 12 volt capable guage).

I tested my grounds, both for the light and the gauge both are good.

I tested 12v to the gauge and it also is good.

I will disconnect the sending unit wire tomorrow and ground it to the chassis and the gauge should read 100. That means my sending unit wire to gauge is good. Then there only is the question of thew sending unit and the connection itself. We'll see tomorrow.

Thanks.............
