Welcome amerikan, could you please try to get more specifics on what is being repaired? Many of us here are interested in tracking the health history of this car, and I think yours may be the first to see 21K miles. We would like to know what's down the road for us as wear and tear continues. Thanks!
I do think you MM will be fine once it's repaired, as for asking for a whole motor replacement, that doesn't sound possible based on what you have told us so far. Get us more details and you'll get a better answer.

No bet. Is this something we should ALL be concerned about when we get close to 20k?
Details, please...

Didn't I hear somewhere (on this board, perhaps?) that the valve guides in our heads are sort of shakey? Hoping to hear more from you amerikan on the details of your repairs.
Oh, and welcome aboard!

Congrats on the car, but Im sorry to hear about the head problems. Did your dad happen to show off alot in the car, I mean what kind of driving was going on to cause such damage. not that im judging, just a bit concerned, cause I drive mine like its not mine :D in other words, i cant keep my foot off the gas:up: do you have any advice for us, such as any advance warning signs you picked up on before the problem happend? keep us posted! and dont let those dealers BS you!
Welcome to the site, good stuff here, everything you need to know about the MM:beer:

Unfortunately the first Marauders along with the Mach 1 and the 03 Cobra do have bad heads, and Ford is not acknowledging this, not every early model will fail but it is something to remember, signs are overheating and smoking on start up.

How about a car that had 2886 clicks on her and now has sat
for over 2 months--run sparingly just to move it few 20 feet --
I'm thinking -change her oil and filter and treat her gentle to you get her to her mod shop a few houndred miles away.....

I head that as well. I understand they caught most of the Cobras, (the engines most affected supposedly) actually shut the line down for a short time to rectify the problem before cars were shipped.
I also heard they have no idea how many, if any, Marauders or Mach1s could be affected. Supposedly it's a small number.
