Zack
06-12-2006, 06:45 PM
Ive had my fun with it and its time to move on. I am offering the Vortech stuff as a 'ship to you package' or 'get it installed at my house' package.
Heres a shot of the engine bay:
http://www.mercurymarauder.net/showcase/files/4/0/4/Marauder001.jpg
and another...
http://www.mercurymarauder.net/showcase/files/4/0/4/Marauder002.jpg
The kit is set up for an 8 Rib belt, which is far superior to the 6 rib. I do have the 6 Rib hardware, so the choice is yours.
The kit will consist of:
Vortech Polished T-Trim
Vortech Water to Air Intercooler
Brand new Intercooler Pump
Bracket for the 98 Cobra Timing Cover -or- Bracket for the 03 Marauder Cover
All of the pipes, hoses & clamps.
98 cobra Timing cover (Not powdercoated) (If you want 8 Rib)
Vortech Mini Race Bypass Valve
4" Power Pipe w/custom made bypass pipe.
4" Mandrel bend intake elbow from TurboHoses
MAF relocation Bracket and SCT BA2400 MAF
MAF harness extender
IAT Sensor
Notched alternator to clear blower pulley (8 Rib)
Custom coolant crossover pipe.
Belt
42 LB injectors
The powdercoated Red upper and lower intake. (Not the fuel rails)
Air Filter

You will need to get the following:
Relocated coolant Reservoir
Intercooler tank and heat exchanger. (Does not have to be the same one Dennis provides in the kit, I can help you out with this one)
Fuel pump(s) and Boost a Pump
Cobra Fan shroud

Most of you do not know that I have a stock motor back in the car. I got it off of Ebay a few months back. With 14 lbs of boost, this kit just made 520rwhp and 465rwtq. Its a beast.
I am letting it all go for $3700 + shipping.
If you want it installed, we will have to hammer a price dependent on your decision to go 8 rib or 6 rib.
Please dont PM me asking me my future plans or why im doing this.
Thanks and a few more pics:

The intake tract WILL be on the passenger side, its gonna be an 8 Rib setup and all bracketry Kenne Bell supplies will be used.
All accessories and blower will run off of one belt.

I'm REALLY interested in this project! Yes, Yes, Yes!!!

I've rolled this same idea around in my head for some time now...

I received some good information from Todd/'Effster' on his install.

I was considering buying a Kenne Bell Mach I kit and then having a mirror image blower intake adapter CNC machined to work on my Marauder.
The only problem was that the cost didn't justify the project vs. waiting for a Trilogy twin-screw upgrade.

Hope all works out well Zack, it will be a SICKer ride than you already had!

You know what is involved in moving the intake tract to the passenger side? Ill tell everyone.
Relocating the battery adjacent to the washer fluid reservoir. And buying longer pos and neg cables.
Extending the IAC and TPS harness
Extending the MAF harness.

Thats it. Few hours of work in my garage.
I will take pics of the whole project.

Just wondering, why relocate the battery? Both of the centrifugal Air-Air offerings demonstrate that the MAF sensor can be mounted sideways and the intake tube could go from the MAF sensor to the throttle body located on the opposite side of the engine.

The oem battery box will be used as the MAF bracket and the filter will be below it.
It is not necessary to do it this way, but it looks good in my head at this point.

Speaking of NOS, I have a used Zex kit with 2 bottles, all the lines, solenoids, heater, gauge, switches and other goodies. I bought it from Bradley G and never used it. Hell I never even took anything out of the box.
Willing to sell it to get my Kenne Bell.

You really need the 8 rib timing cover to have good results. I would say its more of a weekend project.
But if you bite on it, you can drive over and we will do everything.
