View Full Version : What would you label The Marauder?

Alright first off this has to do with the type of car, not your cars name. (if is has one.) I would not call the Marauder a muscle car because it has 4 doors and no chrome bumpers, I wouldn't call it a luxary car because I think it's too fast to be called that, I don't think it's a sport sedan because it can't handle as well as a BMW. I can think of many things to not call it, but wouldn't know what to call it. I just say Black Sedan or 4 Door Black Top (I bet you can guess what I ripped off on that one.) So what would you call this car hua?

How about HIGH Performance Luxury sedan?

Being fast shouldn't keep it from being called a luxery sedan. There are plenty of Mercedes or BMW's that are fast. High end Infiniti's and Lexus' are fast too.

I think that it's not as plush or have as many ammenities would keep it out of the luxury category.

It's a muscle car. So what if it has 4 doors? Muscle cars were standard platforms stuffed with bigger, more powerful engines. That seems to be what we have with a bit of bling added.

Some muscle cars did have four doors, IIRC.

My buddy at work saw it the first morning I owned it and dubbed it "The Black Monster." I agree it isn't a muscle car, road car, touring car, whatever. There is really nothing like a Marauder. As I've said many times since becoming a member I've had a lot of people stare at the car and ask me what kind of car is that. The complements are always real and always positive. Since the DVD and the Speed Channel advertised its a great car for cruising at 70 mph, maybe we should dub it a "Road Muscle Car." I can attest to how I can move effortlessly around slow cars on the turnpike (not carelessly) and pass anything with ease. That's why "Road Muscle Car" maybe is better. Normally, muscle cars are associated with drag racing and the only negative I have ever found in the car is as stock, it does not get out from a dead stop very quick. My vote is either "Road Muscle Car" or "Open Road Muscle Car."

I think your on the right track... I think I'll use just "Road Car" ... avoids the debate about what kind of muscle it is:rolleyes: ... Should go well with, Road Trip, Road House and the like...:D

I'll be glad to take you around a road course in my 7-year-old, 133,00mile station wagon if you'd like to learn how BMWs handle. Though BMWs rarely have the highest hp numbers or the quickest 0-60 time, I think you'll find yourself in the minority if you say they handle poorly.

I never did understand a BMW Station Wagon. Ain't that sort of like a Ferrari Pick-Up truck?? ;) Sounds conflicted to me. :o
