Well,
I can honestly say that I am very tempted to jump right onto this one!
Greg just let me know that FIT#16 is soon to be shipped and I cannot be more pleased with the service and speed...
My problem is I have a "neglected" marauder and yet another great offer comes along.

I was planning on spending my bonus on a trip to the Phillipines for a week...maybe I should...

AWE!

Thanks Greg for the great service on #16

If he has a chip it would have to be re-burnt by a dealer with the s/c tune. IIRC the "red" chip can't be re-burnt by dealers, only by Diablo directly. He should check what type of chip he has first.

That's friggen' awesome. Congrat's on the purchase Joe. I think this is the first kit to go on a built motor right out of the gate. It is going to be a monster.

BTW, are these like D1-SC, 3-core intercooler kind of upgrades? :D :burnout:

Thanks, and Yes...I went with the D1-SC and 3 core intercooler.

Now, How much boost do I want to run...:hmmm:

I've got to discuss it with Greg,
as I've got an extrude honed intake, intake spacer, unshrouded valves (big bore), +1mm oversize S.S. valves, mild bowl work/porting, cams, and a twin 60mm TB.
The restriction to airflow into the engine will be greatly minimized. My boost reading might not correspond to the usual pulley combo.

You're probably also going to be into 60# injector, higher-flowing fuel pump(s) and MAF extender territory. Talk to Tom (MarauderTJA) about where he's going with his build-up and the supporting mods to the kit he's had to do for big boost applications. Just make sure you cover the air and fuel delivery components and get the right stuff from Greg.

You're definitely looking at a custom tune for this bad boy, do you have a tuner (as in person) in mind? I can see the high side of +500 rwhp easily achievable with the setup you're talking about. Color me --> :D

I might take you up on that offer...I'm not too familiar with the different types of tuners...Is that the latest Diablo offering for our Marauders?

The current generation Predator holds one custom tune along with your original tune and has pretty nice datalogging and code scanning functions. I hear the next generation will hold more than one tune and have more Marauder specific functions to modify the custom tunes with. I haven't heard where this is at yet as far as actual production though.

$150 is a good deal for the current one and is plenty useful for the basic user. I don't mess with 80% of the stuff available for adjusting with the one I have now... and Greg can get you hooked up with email adjustments from his Diablo dealer for the other things you might need tweaked. I've done that several times and am very satisfied with his responsiveness.

Hey Joe,
My setup is a bit different but here's a little bit of info for you.

My intake is ported, BBK twin 62mm tb, Kooks headers.
No big bore, no porting, no oversize valves (yet).
D1SC pulley is 3.90", crank pulley is about 10% undersize.
Makes 10 psi at about 6200 rpm in the winter, a little less in summer.
Minor mods were necessary to the alternator and the cam cover for pulley clearance.

Update:
Just finished ironing out the F.I.T. kit details with Greg this evening...

-Procharger D1-SC with 3 core chin mount intercooler
-60lb Bosch injectors with connectors
-3.90" pulley (for starters...heh heh heh...:D )

I am going to upgrade Walbro 255#/hr fuel pump to dual Cobra or Ford GT pump. (more research required at this time...:hmmm:)
I will add a Kenne Bell Boost-A-Pump controller.
I will also add a Methanol injection system.
Rear end will be upgraded and made bullet proof with new 31 spline axles, welded tubes, Eaton Posi and gears...3.73s?...4.10s?...soon .
Now all that I have to do is start to save money for a transmission rebuild...
I don't expect the OEM 4R70W to last too long behind this engine-S/C combo.
Newly acquired BFG Drag Radials won't last too long either!

What boost are you're wanting to start off with the D1-SC? You also might want to look into Diablo's MAFia MAF extender to handle the airflow your looking to build up to.

Man Joe, looks like we are going to have some fun this fall. I have most of the same components going in my build (which should be completed by the and of August). Have the twin Cobra fuel pumps and 60 lb injectors. Will add the KB boot-a-pump too. Already have the 31 splines and Detroit TrueTrac in the car. My P1SC is at Procharger now being upgraded to a D1SC. Still need the 3 core intercooler. Have a Zex nitrous system already installed on the car, in place of the meth injection. Anxiously awaiting the release of the MT ET drag radials in our size.
Lookng forward to lining up next to you at Gainesville:beer: at MV IV. Should be really interesting;) .

A 3.90 pulley is way to big for this setup, hardly make any boost. You might want to think about a 3.60 pulley. Go for the Dual Ford Cobra pumps...worth the extra cash. The Detroit Trutrac is a better posi unit with gears instead of clutches for the same money......no noise either. Won't feel 3.73's......better with 4:10's.

Tim, Joe has an underdrive crank pulley and is running a D1SC vs. your P1SC. The DiSC will flow much more volume of air at the mid to higher RPM, that is why we are starting with a 3.90 pulley.

Good starting place, I have a Romak underdrive crank pulley (6.2") with the 3.90" blower pulley on my D1SC and I make about 10 lb boost. When my built motor gets ready to go in I'll keep the blower pulley like it is at first and change the crank pullty to a 7.5" (10% overdrive) Innovators West pulley.
