View Full Version : Interior Changeover............

Found a MM that is basically what I'm looking for EXCEPT it has the lighter color interior compared to the darker charcoal interior that I really want.
Doing as much research as I can I'm pretty sure that the only difference between the light and dark interiors is the leather on the seats. The carpet, the console, the door panels and the dash seem to stay the same.
So my question is how expensive do you guys think it would be to try and buy just the leather covers in the dark gray from Ford?
Or better yet does anyone know someone that is parting out a MM with the dark interior?
Any thoughts or past experience on what two buckets and a bench seat in the dark gray would go for?

To replace the seat covers around $800-$1000. Approx.

Not as bad as I was thinking.
Anyone here work at a Ford/LM dealership that could look up the part #'s and verify prices?

But it takes more to really change colors.
Package tray cover
Highmount brake light
Seat belts
A-pillar post covers
B-pillar post upper covers with adjustable seat belt mounts
C-pillar sail panel covers
Overhead console
Headliner
Visors

Ahhh.... I never thought to look at the headliner & visors. Didn't know they were different.
I also forgot about the seat belts too.

Thanks Mike this was what I was looking for.
Going by those prices we're at $2,000 for the seat covers and now with other people posting that there are more differences than just the seat leathers this idea is quickly dying.
I'm starting to think that the only realistic way of changing the interior color would be to locate a insurance write off MM that has the darker interior.
Appreciate the advice everyone and feel free to point out things that I'm overlooking.

How about we trade seats even up? Would anyone really notice the other parts?

I appreciate my Light Flint seats everyday when I leave work during the summer. They are much, much cooler than the dark charcoal seats. :D
