So who tried to take you at the light and made you laugh? Post the kills that were so slow it's tough understanding what was going through their head. No high speeds necessary in these...

Yesterday...a Jeep Wrangler before the lanes merged :shake:

Stock Honda Civic. Here's what's funny...

1. The guy was dressed in FULL cowboy gear. Hat, crazy wrangler bolo shirt. He, even looked country.
2. The rear end of this car was smashed up so bad, there was no more trunk. It was like, rear doors, tires, then a drop off.

Tried taking me at a light - let him have a head start to about 40ft away, then shut him down. LOL

Semi.

Yep. Semi. Not at a light, but on the highway heading for the same exit. I posted the story a while back.

A Ford Festiva with a older guy behind the wheel and 3 different color body panels, I was behind him when he floored it and I knew this by the burst of black smoke out the exhaust pipe, I went 1/2 throttle and caught up to him, he looked over to me and gave me a thumbs up, I smiled and returned the Thumbs up and I took off on him.

I also got challenged by a 6 yr old on a big wheel. He was on the sidewalk taunting me as I pulling away from my uncles house, Well I gave him a head start and let him hold a half a big wheel lead til the end of the block, then I smiled and told him he beat me.

If there is a Big Wheels forum and some kid is claiming to beat a Marauder...

Believe him

This was today...6/15/06. 0945 Hrs, I was WB on 103rd from Kedzie Ave.

I wasn't going to post anything about this until this thread opened.

At Pulaski Road, I'm next to a 2006 Chevy Impala SS in the General's version of our Silver Birch. I'm in my #3 MM. We pull FWD from the green, and take it to about 60 MPH, still in 2nd gear for me.

I gave him a sample of a 1-2 shift bark, and he pulled out of the contest. I noticed he had "temp" tags on it as I passed him by, must be new to the car, and the stop light challenge.

At the first opportunity, Kostner Avenue, he turned right and headed north on a side-street. I turned NB on Rt. 50 (Cicero Avenue) and contnued on my way, but parrell to him too.

Two blocks later, there he is...And looking to get on Rt. 50 (Cicero) from a side strreet...He saw me, and waited past what he need to wait, so we would not be side-by-side again.

Sometimes, it's the car. Sometimes it's the driver.

'06 Impala SS...No sweat.

I can't decide whether my car looks too scary to race or to lame and not worth the trouble, the car gets tons of attention and compliments at red lights, no challenges.

Once a long time ago a Grand Am acted a little stupid at a red light but after 5 seconds he had his tail tucked between his legs. Sorry got nothing to tell.

This past Saturday, Wilmington, N.C., @ the light on College Road in front of UNCW, some kid in mommie's Acura, me in the MM with 6 adults. No one in front of us, he's reving it, I didn't even turn off the A/C. Light turns green I hit the go pedal had him by 4 or five car's approaching the next light, he never made it.... turned off as soon as he could.

BTW.. the above is complete fiction... I'd never street race..... :D

Today a POS civic cam next to me on the parking lane on north ave. near humboldt park (chicagoans will know). He even was about 1\2 into the intersection when the light turned green. I heard his lawnmower muffler squeal so I stepped down, No match for the LX sport.

Not a stupid kill as such,BUT to many to count that try to pass from a red light in the left lane to turn at the next right turn or from a right hand turn lane just to get ahead of me at a stop sign or traffic light. Have not been beaten yet.

A beat up old Geo Tracker driven by some weird looking long-haired freak, just about a week after I bought my car, (still bone stock). I shut him down of course, once I realized he for some reason was serious.

An old beat up S-10 tried to blow by me (I was doing 65 already) so I let him get even then push to about 3/4 throttle and he realizes he must pull back behind. Later he does blow by me, I was too slow to catch him :D and let him go.

Also a camry newer model possibly '03 '04 model also tries to blow by me. This time I nailed it when they noticed I nailed it they tried to do the same hehe bad mistake :flamer: they quickly had to pull back behind me.

I was going into town one Friday and at every light there was a beat up old Dodge pickup with loud exhaust!!

He bliped the throttle at about 4 different stop lights....and I thought "No Way"....Sooooo at a relatively vacant intersection I practiced my "Half Throttle" launch (still spun a little) and before I crossed the intersection I was a full car length ahead.....Not even breaking the speed limit of 35 MPH!! :bows:

Well about 100 yards further and after I began a 35 MPH cruise he blew by me at about 60!!! What is with these MORONS???

Yesterday, a soccer mom in a '04 Honda Odyssey. We were at a 2 lane left hand turn that merged to one lane just before the beltway entrance. She was in the lane that ended and she kept trying to inch ahead. She was glaring at me the whole time, but of course she could not see in my car due to the 5% tint. With about 200 feet to go, I goosed it to about 5lbs. and left her in the dust. Although I think I saw her waving good-bye with her middle finger...:D

Shame, shame !! :D The thing that bothers me about this is .... How did you know it was an '04 Odyssey ??? I have trouble just figuring out the make/model of these jellybeans.

Here's mine ---

Last summer, a friend of my oldest son got himself a brand new black F-150 with the V-8 Triton. Coming home from work one day, he lines up next to me on the right at a redlight. His lane ends before the next light. I wasn't sure what he was gonna do until I heard him gun the engine and look over and smile. O/D off, T/C off :D. When the light changed, I was on it with my best R/T ever. It was over in 3 seconds and he dropped in behind me. About a week later I saw him at a party and he says "You know that I wasn't trying" .... "Me either" was my response. Then he wanted to check out the MM.

A honda Cervix, i posted about it awhile ago too.

Last Saturday on my way back from Lunch me and this guys new-to-him BMW 550i (License Applied for tags) went at it and he lost. At the next light he slowly creeped past mine to look at it [more] and looked upset.

On Sunday it was a red Mustang GT with huge rims, probably 20s. He tried twice. Lost both times and rolled his window up at the third light.

:dunno:

Maybe I should stop taking the routes to/from work that have all these two to one lane merges.....nawwwww :P

Dodge Durango last night on the way home from the Jersey Shore. Sitting at a light with several miles of 4 lane ahead...Da Little lady sez.."you know, I think this guy next to you want to go" I sed, I'm not gonna bother with him.

Light turns green, he guns it...I'm at about half throttle up to maybe 45, he was hangin on my rear quarter...then I let the boys loose and we were GONE!!

I had a Prius, yes a Prius, come up behind me, tail me, and then try to whip around and cut me off. Suffice to say he whipped to the next lane, then got whipped, and never went around.

Second was at a stoplight just before a large overpass. A guy next to me was giving the the thumbs up, and asked me to rev. When the light turned green, I hit the gas under the overpass in "N" letting him hear the exhaust and blower whine. :D

After going under the overpass the lanes merge, and a Bimmer that was next to/behind me took off trying to cut me off. I goosed it a bit to stay ahead and the Bimmer slowed way down and for the next few miles stayed about 1/4 mi back and refused to pass.

Be careful the Prius is one tough cookie. http://priuschat.com/index.php?showtopic=16201 They have reportedly killed a 5.0, m3 (until the Prius topped out), a viper, a sportbike, even an enzo (but only from 0-6mph). That really is a hilarious thread if you have the time.

OMG this is hilarious, and angering. I hate those stupid cars and that thread validates my feeling that the majority (NOT ALL) of the drivers of these things are way to into themselves.

LOL @ 0-6mph

And don't let them try to tell me I don't know what i'm talking about, I know very well electric motors have all of their torque available from right off 0rpm. I know how they work.

I also know they aren't fast.

See for yourself:

Last night, my friend and I were driving on Street Road, in Warminster, when a kid in a VW Jetta, decided that he wanted to feel the awesome power my Marauder. Because I had the A/C on I was a little slow at first, but when we reached a speed of 115, I turned off the A/C and the car took off like a rocket, leaving the Jetta in my dust. When the car reached the speed of 125 mph, my buddy starts to warm me of the up coming red light. I was able to stop the car in plenty of time. As the kid in the Jetta past us, I smell his clutch burning. My buddy said, that kid just got his a** handed to him by two old guys in a big sedan.

Had 3 races today, (all of them are my friends) They were calling my car a cop car and that Im wasting my money on performance parts.
OK step up!
To be cute they put me against a Toyota Corolla S automatic, I offered the head start but he wanted a heads up challenge, I took him at 1/2 throttle and was still pulling. Nobody knew it was a 1/2 throttle run so they laughed and swore that my other friends 06 Accord V-6 Coupe would roast me. OK lets go,
We lined up, I spool the convertor up to 1500 RPMs and let it rip, My tires hooked up and I pulled 3 cars away before the Accord grabbed traction and ended with a 5 car lead on him at the end.
They called it a fluke since the Accord had no traction and they figured they would put the last nail in the coffin by putting me up against a Nissan Titan with exhaust, and a intake.
OK Lets go,
We line up, I spool the convertor up to 2300 RPM's I figure If Im going to take him Im going to really put this fun to rest by destroying him.
We go and for some strange luck, I actually managed to hook up and pull right past him as if he didnt step on the gas yet, We ended with me about 5 truck lengths ahead and still pulling.
Needless to say I was given my due props and no more Cop car talk from now on.

I have owned my baby MM for almost exactly 1 year and I have never tried to kill anyone at the red light. It has always been enough for my ego to know that a) i probably could and b) the stock MM is not set up for beating anyone w/ serious iron under him that knows what they're doing, not really. However, i HAVE done the "gun the engine and make them THINK you're going to" a bunch of times, and invariably it results in hilarity. which almost rhymes. The last time was with a BMW 645i (am pretty sure it was 645i) and all I could think was sure, maybe not off the light but from 60+ to 100 i'd eat your shorts .... LOL :) but im not the street racing type, i'm more of the abandoned streets at 3am type.

I figured this would be the best thread for my post, because, after all...it was a Buick. Its 6:20 or so in the morning and my friend and I are off to work, its my day to drive. We pull up to a red and on my right pulls up some guy with his windows down and radio way too loud (too loud for standing still...I do have some manners.) I feel I should point out that I really like being in front when leaving red lights...I REALLY like being in front. I don't like speeding too much, I just love being in front. Back to the story. Light turns green and I push the pedal down. I see the guy still next to me so I push it down further, I am not sure if I had it on the floor or not because i was too busy paying attention to the word "Buick" on his bumper. I know something was unnatural about that car, but that does not change the fact that my friend reminds me several times every day that I got toasted by a Buick. So, now my tax return...if I have any of it left after I move...will be devoted to 4.10s and a good tune instead of a nice xm ready head unit.

I guess I count as a stupid kill...right?

Was it a boxy mid-80's 2-door Regal?:D

The Grand National/T-Type cars came with a Turbo 3.8L V6 in 1987 and where good for low low 14's stock. A few mods and 12's come easy. I know of a couple 9 (and even one 8) second cars that are street legal.

Or was it a later model Regal 4-door? The GS model came with a factory supercharged 3800 V6, low 15's stock, mid/high 13's with a pulley change and a tune. 11's and 12's are not unheard of with these cars either, but FWD hurts the launch.

HEY that's the same engine my pretty Bonnie had! I loved my '92 Bonnie, she was a pretty lady. Some chucklehead ordered her with every available option except the supercharger and heads-up display and damn was she full of gadgetry and charm. I got her used 3 years after he decided to upgrade w/ just over 30K on the OD ... She's still alive now 11 years later, still going strong, just not in my hands. She survived Katrina w/ just some floor flooding and got sold to a desperate housewife after a winter sitting cold and alone (which at least killed all the mushrooms) I loved that car. A whole winter sitting there and with a fresh battery it starts on the first turn ... gave me 11 or 12 great years of service.
I always bought the best rubber Goodyear made for her and changed the oil every 2500 miles. :sniff: :bigcry:

At stoplight, I have left lane. Light goes green, I launch. I hear this screaming and farting noise at about my 5 o'clock position...I go ahead and ive it 3/4 throttle at this point...need to get away from that strange sound.
I let off throttle 1/2 mile later to get back to cruisin speed al of a sudden the WRX comes flying by and gives me an indicator on how many friends and my intelligence number...

Now, I had no A/C on and my windows where down...full tank of push-oh-leen. WRX is turbo'ed and AWD...it shoulda taken me. Guess he just had to run windows up and A/C on....

Got a couple.
Beaner in a cobalt. Guess he thought his rims and painted calipers made it fast. I was next to him and needed his lane. He sped up, I sped up, he sped up, I mashed it and took his lane. After the turn, he felt the need to pass me. Heavy LEO zone. Let HIM have teh ticket!

Punk kid in a civic si. Open 4-lane stretch of US1. Wet out. The punk would get me from the line, cuz i couldn't keep it planted, but I'd run him down and leave him back in traffic 'till the next light. He just wouldn't learn.
