State Farm has reasonable rates, just curious what yours are. I have 4 cars insured, multi car discount, less than 7500 miles per year per vehicle, live in major metro area (DC), $300K body liability, medical limit of $10K per person, $50K property liab, $100 deductible comp, $500 deduct collision, which equates to $760 for half year for the '03 MM.

Too many variables, I used to work for State Farm..Drivers' ages , records, and area in which you live all dictate the pricing. Mine is half that for same coverage with them.

Tom,

Your paying $760/6 months JUST for the Marauder with State Farm?

I have State Farm, identical coverage that you have, same general location. I pay $857/6 months for ALL 3 of my cars of which the Marauder is only $361/6 months. I'm 49 and drive more miles.

$300k liability, $100k property damage, $5k medical, $25k uninsured motorist, $200 ded comprehensive, $500 ded collision $525/ 6mo. Renewal discount, multicar discount, safe driver discount (for me). Paying higher premiums for now due to wife's 3 crashes in 2 years but that will be coming up for review in about 6 mo. Both drivers 46 y.o., no tickets. Total premium for 5 vehicles $1,730/ 6mo. Farm Bureau.

Look at the savings to raise your Collision Deductible to $1,000. The difference between $500 Ded and $1,000 Ded is $500. The annual savings in premium between the 2 is what you are paying to insure the $500.

In most cases you are paying $180-$300 on an annual basis to insure the $500 difference. Also when you file a $750 claim because you paid for the $500 ded your rates maybe raised for filing a claim.

I live in the DC area. Germantown MD. I have Erie and pay $860.00 per year. 250 ded. for comp, 1000 for coll. I'm 26 and an insurance agent believe me they have the best rates. I don't even work for them. I checked with State Farm they were $1200.00 per year.

My MM is cheaper than a 1998 Dodge Ram Quad cab and I have higher coverage with the payoff option but I had to switch from Geico to Progressive...The difference between the quotes was over a thousad dollars. Evidently Geico list the MM as a performance car and Progressive list it as a GM.....The point is shop around

Mine's a little over $1000/year with full coverage, etc etc...

When I first bought the MM, I couldn't even get most dealers to give me a reasonable quote. The MM wasn't in their systems, so they were just basically guessing.

And once they found out the MM has a high-performance engine ... estimates all jumped by about $100. That increase dropped off when I reupped after six months. (I guess we're safer drivers than everyone with a Mustang ... as a group.)

Eventually, I got what I consider an acceptable price.
$700/six months for $300,000/$100,000, only car, one driver, daily commute of less than 5 miles in a major metro area (Nashville).

My insurance, through StateFarm, is about $280/6 months, with full coverage and $500 deductible. That also includes multiple vehicle discount, accident-free discount, homeowner's insurance discount, etc. Guess it's a perk living in a one-cow town in the cornfields of Wisconsin!!

I pay twleve hundred for two vehicles with full coverage but i also have one accident and one ticket so I am a little high. Both violations will be off when i re-up in six months hopefully I will drop by a good amount.
