:help:
I recently bought the Meg's resonator delete tips, the K&N air charger and the SCT Calibrator 2 from Lidio. I installed the K&N system. No trouble, as it came with superb schemes and instructions.

But I have some questions regarding the other items :
- what do I need to do for installing the Calibrator 2 ? I was told that it is simple, but, unfortunately, it came to me from Lidio without any paper, scheme or whatever...
- from your experience, can the Megs be installed by a Ford dealer ?
- is there any interference created by the Megs on the computer, i.e. is it recommended to install the Megs before the Calibrator so the latest one would integrate some new data ?

Thanks in advance for your kind answering.
Best regards to all my southern neighbours - I live in Quebec.

The tips have no effect on anything else. Is just cosmetic and for sound quality.

You can get info and instructions for the XCal 2 at their website.

Check out their instructions on their site, I know what they include isn't all that great.

You do want to remove the fuel pump fuse from the fuse box near the battery. Your manual will show it's position in the fuse box. Apparently you don't want the fuel pump to run during the flash, I don't know why b/c I disabled it, my guess is that during hte pgoram load the PCM may start priming the pump causing it to either get damaged or over pressurize the system? I'm not really sure, just a guess there.

Once the fuel pump is disabled, I think you just plug it in, turn the key to "run" and follow the instructions on the screen to flash it. It only takes a minute or so. :)

the reason you pull the fuel pump and fan fuses is because when you flash it, both of them run. pulling them serves no purpose ofther than to keep the battery from draining and reaching too low of a voltage when flashing. if the voltage drops to low, the flash can fail and nuke your ECU. You might be able to reflash it sucessfully, you may not. if you have confidence in your battery you dont need to pull fuses, it really doesnt take that long to flash. i pulled them the first time i flashed my Mark VIII, but never after that.
If you want a truely clean start with the new SCT file, disconnect the battery for a minute or 2 after flashing, this will delete anything stored in the KAM (Keep Alive Memory) in the ECU. thats what stores your learned data from when you drive. once you flash it the first time, if you make changes to the tune file, there isnt any need to clear the KAM, unless its a drastic change like adding a blower..

You don't need to do this, every time you flash a tune, the adaptive memory is flushed. This is also why it's good to do a few WOT runs down an on ramp somewhere, to start rebuilding a fresh adaptive memory file.

:banana2: I installed the SCT II yesterday. Plug out the fuel pump fuse and put the battery under load (in case...) during the process. Made a road test. One word : fantastic ! Shifting firmly, reaching 6K revs on strong acceleration...my "Mercury" Marauder became a "Marauder" Mercury !
Sincere thanks to all the ones who answered !
