Spent the whole day at Bremerton Raceway.

My first run was a 14.230 with a 2.119 60 foot

Then the track was closed down for:
1. Oil down. (From the water box to the finish line, 2 & 1/2 hour clean up)
2. Rain delay (1 hour)
3. Rain delay (Another hour plus)
4. Another oil down (1/2 hour)

My second run was a 14.098 with a 2.072 60 foot setting a new personal best.

Then the track was closed dowwn for another 45 min due to a roll over past the finish (Another 1 hour delay

Normally I seeam to have my best run close to the beginning of the day. I figured I'd set my dial in at 14.20. you can always watch the mirror, but you can't pick up speed. Wrong answer this time.

3rd run (1st round of eliminations) I broke out with a 14.096 and a 60 foot of 2.076 setting a NEW new personal best.

13's. So close and yet so far. :mad2:

Now that's sticking with it!!! If not next time, it will be the time after that! I'm sure

I'm still learning how much the drag radials can handle off the line. The last 2 runs I held the burnout for a full 4 seconds in the water box. The last time it shifted into second and bogged bown quite a bit. :)

BJ, looks like you're getting there! To be able to knock on 13's door with just gears, intake and a tune is quite an accomplishment.

If found that warming up drag radials in the waterbox enough to make a difference is a bit of a learning curve though. My best success was easing into it in 1st enough to let the trans shift into 2nd and then holding 4500 rpm for a few seconds. I got down to a 1.8x sec 60 footer, but it cost me my stock limited slip doing it without a line-lock.

Drag radials are evil. :D

Figuring out your dial-in times is at work of art. I use a thermo laser gun to get track temps and engine heat. I have found a 10 degree temperature reduction = -.1 (or a10th). Watch out for extended cool down periods, because that’s when a brake out is most likely to happen. Secondly pay close attenuation to your trap speed and R.P.M.’s, approaching the end of the track. Letting off the gas or applying the brakes will save a breakout when you know you car is exceeding your dail-in,but it takes concentration. . Congratulations on your run.
