Last December I had my car repainted after it got hit by a bunch of rocks off a dump truck. Since then I have been washing it by hand and have been very picky on what I do and dont do when it comes to detailing it.
I noticed the other day that I have a few tiny rough spots on the hood and front bumper area but the paint is still there. No white spots or missing paint.

Im at the point where I would like to clay my car but Im not sure if is too early to do it being that the paint is still fairly new. How long till it is safe for me to be able to use a clay bar on the car and not have to worry about anything going wrong with the finish?

Any and all advice is asked and appreciated.

Ghost,

I clayed my front facia 2 months after it was repainted due to that young biatch running into me.

You should be fine considering it has been 6 months.

Mike.

^^^^^^ I agree with the above

The secret to the bar is lubrication, the more the better, but it does the job.

Rob, the paint shop told me 60 days was ok after they rebuilt my front end. Dennis. How about doing mine, too? :D Dennis - I'll run over a cone kicker for you.

Please wait approximately 45 days after the repaint, before doing any buffing/claying etc. So you're fine :)
