Found a dealer to install the 4.10's. Got the car back today.
I've been running the chip without the gears now for about 4 months. The gears really round off this phase I package.
Anyone stitting on the fence worried that they will ruin the highway drivability of this wonderful car...think again.
4.10's = MORE performance and BETTER drivability. 80 mph is about 2600 - 2700 rpm's. Nice and smooth. Nice and quite.

When i slow her down to around 25 -30mph then slam down the pedal...she jumps into first and gets up and goes!!
That chip has been begging for those gears.

4.10's should be the stock gear ratio in this car.
I can CLEARLY see why folks are starting to talk about the 4.30's

Couldn't agree more, just had my first out of town "road trip" yesterday to Providence and trust me it had to be a "speed run" ran 80-90 most of the way down and back I95 & 495, car ran like a top and loved every minute of it... Even at those speeds the gears were a great fit...

Witness, if you will, a car, a man, and a stretch of flat straight road. But this is no ordinary car, and no ordinary driver. The car is a sinister black spectre and the man has a foot of solid lead. He never uses driving directions, rather, he files flight plans. This trip, you see, can only be in the 'Marauder Zone' ".

Does that explain it?
Gears=big-ol-grin
Gears+chip+stat+plugs=Grin to the tenth power

Amerikan - the parts can be ordered from one of our supporting vendors, Dennis Reinhart.

My dealer charged me $375 labor and about $50 misc parts and lube. A bit pricey....but endorsement doesn't come cheap.

FYI ..

"Ford Racing Performance Parts Catalog"
Part Number M-4209-G410 (4:10 gears for the 8.8" rear end)
Cost: $200

Of course then you need to add installation and shipping....

If the $375 included installlation... I would say it is a pretty good deal.

There is also an asterisk... says "not legal for use on pollution controlled motor vehicles"... Not sure if that is important... pollution never controls my car....

Mass,
BTW... Any major difference in mileage???

Stuff mod related is cheaper from Reinhart, give him a call at 904.276.5003.

As for gas mileage with 4:10s, I just did a road trip of 500 miles, averaged 21. MPG.
