I'm guessing a dead pedal provides a place to put your right foot while using Cruise control. Is that correct? If it is how does that work when it is installed on the left near e-brake as shown on dynoproauto.com? Do you put your left foot on dead freeing up room for your right foot?

No no no no... the dead pedal is for resting your left foot. Have you ever noticed when cornering, especially to the left that there is no where to put your foot??? With a dead pedal installed you now have a place for your foot.....

This is mine - factory dead pedal from a Mustang. Also a picture of all the pedals with covers from DynoPro.

A dead pedal is many things to many people, but it's original intent on the Marauder was to give shorter folks some "floor" for their left foot. Kenny Brown is about 5'8" tall.

I'm 5'9", wear a 9-10 size shoe (depending on shoe style), and I can't touch the floor when seated in my favorite driving position. With a dead pedal in place, I can brace myself in the seat with my left foot, while my right is free to brake or accelerate.

I am sure I am exerting much down force of the pedal, so, it's got to be strong and securely mounted, and this frees my upper body to control the car without getting thrown around in the twisties/hard cornering.

You guys over 6'/size 13, could prolly care less...LOL!

Even for us tall guys the prob is the floor angle is almost flat making it uncomfortable for the achillies.

Sometimes, I'm pushing so hard on my dead pedal, I wonder if I am damaging my seat track. Nonetheless, this hasn't been the case, yet.

But, I have to say (maybe again), that having a strong dead pedal at your left foot's disposal is indeed a good thing. Sadly, you won't know this until you have one in place.

It's like feeling the difference between being the team's quarterback, and one of it's guarda. One allows you full fluid movement and control of the automobile, the other just blocks spam.

I could make the same argument over control arms.

Maybe this isn't a good mataphore, but it came to my mind, so, why not?
