Built 8/02 would that be 300A or 300B?

Says 8/02 inside drivers door. Where do I find whether it's a 300A or B. Thanks

codered, there wasn't an exact cutoff date for 300As...there was a short transition period where some cars received some of the 300A features, but not all. The real way to tell is whether you have all of the 300A features:

Separate clock in dash
No traction control
Automatic parking brake release
Electric fuel door release
Metal grilles on the rear speakers
Full-size spare

The Backbird was built 8/29/02 and is a 300A, so I have to believe yours is, too...

Blackbird, I have fuel door release, Full size spare, no traction control, but the only clock is the digital display on radio

A guy I know has a MM with full size spare.The cover around his gear selector matches that funny looking sort of speckled strip on dash. Mine has a chrome cover around gear selector. I bought it used. Does anyone else have a chrome cover? Thanks

With the above list, add leather pockets on the front of the front seats and it's a 300A. That chrome shifter is a aftermarket part.

Mine has a chrome cover around gear selector. I bought it used. Does anyone else have a chrome cover?Chrome was standard on the Grand Marquis/Crown Vic, but a few MMs got chrome ones during the transition from 300A to 300B...it could also be that the previous owner liked the chrome one better than the dot-matrix and replaced it.
