Does anyone know if our cars have an anti-siphon device?

Almost all late model vehicles have device in the filler
neck to prevent syphoning gas...

Really. Are you 100% sure that our cars have one? And if so, how does the device work?

I don't know, but it might be quicker to try and stick a hose in the tank than to wait for an answer!

Or just buy a locking gas cap just for cheap insurance.

It's called using my head..If every body
thinks it has one..then there won't be any reason
try it..It's a thin filler neck with two bends
and most people will use
the largest hose possible to get the fuel out quick..
This would get stuck..
I have done service calls requiring the priming of fuel
filters and found many newer vehicles the hose stops
at the top of the tank..This would lead me to believe
most newer vehicles have something installed to prevent
syphoning.
If you need to Syphon Premium gas you can't afford
the car and get that hose away from my tank!!
A screen inside the filler neck would be enough
to stop a hose getting to the fuel..
