My Eibachs arrived today. I am going to install these myself. Will I need a spring compressor or can I drop the lower control arm far enough to not need one? My compressor is an internal style and won't work with these coil overs.

I would HIGHLY recommend an EXTERNAL spring compresser. Made spring swap MUCH easier!

You can pickup the external spring compressors from Harbor (aka Horrible) Freight.
Check 'em out at: http://da.harborfreight.com/cpisearch/web/search.do?keyword=spring+compr essor
P/N's 43753-0VGA or 3980-6VGA
Better be safe than sorry. I've heard of springs cuttin' loose & severely maiming or killing people.
Have a pro do it. Its not worth losing your life over.

You can rent an external spring compressor at autozone. Not sure but when I put a suspension on my sho if its the same as the MM you will have to remove the assembly before compressing the spring to remove the upper mount then you can pull out the old spring if your eibachs are like tokicos I would test fit them and see if you can get the upper mount on without compressing the eibachs. With my sho they lowered it so much that I didnt have to bother with compressing them for the install cause they didnt compress till the car was dropped off the stands.

Don't chance it, pull the assembly out and take it to a pro shop for the spring swap.

Just to let you know, Carfixer's custom alignment specs are useless with Eibach lowering springs.

I'm not afraid of swapping springs. I've swapped in police duty springs to my vics without incident. Just wanted to know what I faced with the coil overs. Sounds like I'll have to rent a couple of external compressor pairs.
I am curious though, why won't carfixers alignment specs work with the Eibachs?

I would just take the whole assembly out yourself and go have the springs swapped by a ford dealer. That is what I did. I tried to swap them myself and could not believe how stiff the stock springs are. I have a top of the line impact and was running the compressors down and they started flexing pretty bad. Decided if wasnt worth it. and had them swapped for $20. Saved alot of time and possibly my life. Dont risk it! I tatally agree with zack $ mac. By the way I was useing the autzone ones too.
