What a PITA, but the old motor and new block are on stands. I had planned on having everything switched over before this weekend, but lack of parts, weather and "it just plain took a lot longer than I thought" has put me behind schedule.
My neighbor who is an excellent mechanic and my second set of eyes and extra brain to keep me from effin up, will be gone for ten days.
So I am going to plug away at a slower pace and double think everything as I go.
Here is what I have plans to do. Any other suggestions?

I am not touching the top end as it will cost more then the short block to do it right for minimal ($/hp) gain and will be a significant delay at this point. Maybe after further research I will do it later.

I have been waiting for the results of the ported intake/throttle body, but that may not happen in time for me to do anything.

I will be mounting the stock uppers on the new shortblock with ARP head studs etc.

I am adding:
UD harmonic balancer
Meziere electric water pump w relay & switch
8 bolt flexplate
MMR racing Oil pump w/pickup–
Moroso Oil Pan –
Windage tray
Motor/Tranny mounts – Energy suspension - not sure if they will work, they are for a stang.
Griffin Custom Radiator if it will fit with the head unit.
20 lb cap
High flow fuel filter/ maybe rails and lines (DR is working on pricing/parts)
60 lb Injectors with connectors
E-boost 2 electronic boost controller –
Dash Mount -
Two light ring -
Two led lights

Wide band AFR gage AEM
NGKTR71X iridium spark plugs
Pillar Console
Fuel Pressure gage
Tranny Temp
Real Oil pressure gage
20 amp BAP -
DS MAF IA
Dynaflow Ultraflow Mufflers
Powder Coat Valve covers
Custom valve body for tranny
MM DS & Metco Loop
New rear girdle

Waiting on another group buy or a deal on 31spline axles and differential.

I still want 13" brakes up front (no one makes an acceptable set) but I may have to go with the EBC kit/SS lines.

Existing mods are in the sig.

I believe there was just a set in the Classifieds for like...$200 or so.

Also, I would probably look into the Head Cooling Mod while you have the motor out.

I'd definately do the rear cooling mod from DR while it's out.

Good luck J. Want some help?

:2thumbs: :2thumbs: Engine cooling mod for sure!!!

If the motor and tranny mounts work let me/us know. I will be doing those when I do the engine swap if we find some that fit. Dennis will be doing my swap so hopefully we will find something between now and then.

Also, While swapping over the starter, make sure you put a heat shield/blanket on it. The turbo pipe comes right next to it. I put a wrap on it afterwards but I think it would have been better to get a nice blanket and put it on during install out of the car without hte pipes in the way.

Eliminate the EGR.
Its pointless and the cooling mod will be difficult if you leave the EGR tube installed.
The egr tube requires fancy bending. If you insist on keeping it, fit the egr tube around the cooling mod pipe on the engine stand.

Any penalty or gain from losing the egr? Just curious. Besides, I would imagine the egr would be 'funky' anyways due to the turbo headers.....

Won't removing te EGR get you in trouble with the state / Fed's?

And the llaundry lsit of other things he's doing won't? Trust me they'd never look past the turbo to notice the egr misisng.

Besides, its Florida we have no emissions inspection.
