UncleLar

Hey Slowpoke, can you write that off as a business lunch?;) I've got another idea for
Craftypoke Industries, how about a Concept Marauder Convertible stroller that can be upgraded to a pedal car later and eventually into a go kart?
Can we do a Chicken Meet without snow and freezing temperatures?

Poke you did send me a club card, so do I qualify to do the Dell Rhea's thing if I can? Or do I have to go through some kind of initiation/hazing? Where's this at exactly? Time?

Well, maybe next time. Thanks MadMan - c ya in 120 hours !Ahh make that 117.5 !

SergntMac
05-14-2003, 08:37 AM
Date: Sunday, 25 May 03
Time: 1400 hr., or 2 PM, which ever works for you.
Average dinner tab is 10 bucks, great chicken, good everything, kids and family welcome, but once we start talking MM, they sometime feel left out. But, all are welcome.

Del's is located on real, meaning genuine "Old Route 66," here's one link. http://centerstage.net/music/clubs/dell-rheas.html

Map Quest can help too.

Get your butt to Rt. 83 and I-55. Drive north on 83 to the first traffic light north of I-55. Make a right, and another hard right on to the Frontage road. Follow that around and you'll see Del's.

Hope this thread is getting out to the regular member's, and if you haven't checked in here yet, please do. A head count helps.

I'll try to bring some pins, if I can get them from our E-Bay Guru.

See y'all there.

'Twas a fine bright beautiful day at the Chicken Basket,a bunch of familiar faces, most of whom have attended each "Chicken Meet",and some friendly and enthusiastic new faces. Much good comradery was enjoyed by all. Some passes made down a remaining stretch of the real & original Route 66 brought even more smiles and enthusiasm to some new Marauder owners. And the Blue cars do look pretty good in natural sunlight, much better than the glaring lights of the Auto Shows.

"Enthusiastic" is an Understatement Lar. We had a great time.
Thanks to all the guys for tolerating me and the youngun's I brought along. Again, thanks MAC, I'm thinking 2000RPM's brake torque before the "launch"..If there's a next time.
By the way Bill's been on the sight all morning checking out the Mod's...Chip first......you've created two monsters...when's the next "drag race" happenin'?

If you try 2000 RPMs in my MM, you'll go up in smoke.

As for the next drag meet, I'm all for it. Let's try Byron?

There is also a show in Wauconda, Il. that is not listed on Sunday, June 29...............

Good News:
I'll be joining everyone for Chicken on the 13th.

Bad News:
My Marauder is spending the weekend in the garage of the dealer. Power seats stopped working... circuit breaker melted (these things are suppose to open... mine just melted) .. Dealer trace short circuit to relay, then spent the rest of the day looking over the electrical system just in case there was something else. The relay is on national back order. Dealer says he will get a new part on Monday. (from other car on lot??). Anyway, I got a free loaner from the dealer (great dealer, huh!). Guess what... a year old Grand Marquis.

Soooo.... if anyone is interested we can break from the chicken and compare the Grand Marquis to Marauder... Why??? I am not sure... just thought it may be interesting. (We do not want to compare performance... trust me... the GM isn't even close to the Marauder)

See ya' Sunday

Back in town from 'up nort."

Here is the link for Sundays events in Union Grove-

http://www.greatlakesdragaway.com/g...nfo&eventid=143

Dependning on who is planning to be out on Sunday it looks like a good neutral spot to meet would be in Gurnee at Rt. 132 & 94/Tri-state. There are a few restaurants there including a Cracker Barrel.

The events starts @ 9:00AM. I will call up there today to determine what the show consists of and if we can reserve a large area for the club. My portable grill and cooler will be packed.

Who is in? What time is good?

Advise-

Jay

UncleLar
08-04-2003, 12:26 PM
Jay,the link doesn't work,at least not for me. I'll be going up to DaGrove,I'll try racing my Expedition unless LL3 wants to bring that hot rod 96 Tweety Bird to race my bone stock 96 Puddy Tat.A breakfast meet sounds good, then we can all roll in together.

mad man
08-04-2003, 05:15 PM
Jay the link does not work for me either .I would not worry about club parking. I don't think we will have more than 10 car's top's. Cracker barrel work's for me say around 8.00 to 8.30 . Any one have a better plan were still open to idea's.:coolman:

Jay, we can't set a spot aside in the pits, but we may be able to set a
place for your cars in the show area. See me when you get to the track- Ask
for Greg. I will be there when the track opens at 9:00AM.
Our grounds are pretty big, your group can probably stake out a place to
gather without too much difficulty.

See you Sunday!

Sorry, y'all, but due to engineering problems discovered during our recent Dyno Tune event this last Sunday, I'll not be showing my KB-S car at this GLD show.

Nothing serious mind you, but the new program from Jerry is not going to settle in before then. Nothing serious here, it's just that this supplier cannot meet my deadline in replacing parts like UPS can, and they don't use UPS.

I hate FedEx...stiff pr*cks, they are. Hard to meet delivery schedules...Maybe next time?
