I just installed the 60MM Accufab throttle body from the Group Buy that Todd put together (Thanks Again)

Is the Pedal supposed to feel like Im crushing a rubber ball under it???
I can put gentle pressue on the pedal to get going but I have to really press hard to get WOT.
I checked the cable and my intake, Nothing is touching the blades.
Im just curious if this is normal.
Besides the hard pedal, the car pulls strong and idles normally.

It will feel different, it's a new return spring. I'm sure you'll get used to it, but if it continues to be unconfortable, check the spring for binding?

It feels like there is a little more resistance, which I like, but it does not feel like anything is preventing me from flooring it.

What you feel is normal. It will loosen up a little and at the same time you'll get used to it. I feel it provides more 'input' to the feel of driving.

Have fun!

Nothing is stopping the pedal and I can go WOT, Im just not used to the way it feels.
Thanks for the responses
Hopefully it will loosen up a little

A question for you guys/gals that have switched over to the Accufab TB.
Did you see an improvement in throttle response?
Did it get rid of any of the pedal lag that we experience with our marauders?

Thats why I tool mine off, INMOP its not worth the money, and you gain very little if any thing.

On the dyno I gain 3hp through the range but zero torque.
The Stiffness went away after a couple hundred miles and now its like the TB was always installed.
Every HP counts

Thanks for the info, I'm really looking for better Throttle response not necessarily horsepower (but more horsepower is always good).
I guess I'll have to take a different approach to get what I'm looking for, maybe in the electrical department.

For about the same amount of money, I would invest in the Mezirie electric water pump this eliminates the drag from a belt driven water, pump I have used one for years and have had 0 problems, and you will gain way more RWHP on the average about 7/10

What is the lag that you speak of ?

I'm happy with mine. Have had no problems with it since it's been installed. Better throttle response.

When the car is in "overdrive" (everyday driving) and you go to hit the gas to pass someone or to speed up, there is a delay between touching the pedal and when the car starts to increase speed.
I know it is a 4.6 cammer motor, but I would like to get better TB response.
I might look into coil packs.

As far as better throttle response, There is a little bit of a quicker downshift when on a roll and off the line you dont have to use as much throttle. Overall its a nice piece and I dont regret putting it on my engine. Getting used to the firmness of the throttle was a bit annoying but that soon passed and I enjoy the firmer pedal.

As for the electric water pump, Im a bit nervous about that mod for a car I use as a daily driver. I dont like having risk my engine with a electric motor thats running full time everytime I drive.
Plus after the install its wise to install a LED to let you know its running and a better temp gauge to make sure everything is cool with the engine.
Too much hassle for 7/10 HP

I think you are talking about the 'downshift'.

1st, take it out of OD.
2nd, press the accelerator.

Keep your coil packs.
Call Wes at Innovative Interceptors and order the Granatelli COP Wires.

I guess Meninblk is correct, I guess I am talking about "downshift".
Is there anything I can do to improve it???

The new TB itself has a much firmer return spring. The stock TB had a weak one. You can probably replace that long spring with a lighter one to feel like stock again.

Nice to see you posting again. I like the firm return spring.

I seem to have a little trouble in this area also. When I first begin to accel. usually when cold it's alsmost as if the trans is slipping. It's not the trans the rpm just ssuddenly jumps some. I've been assuming it to be the throttle body, IAC or something but am not sure. Seems ok after it warms up. When you said "that we expearience as Maurauder owners" My first thought was it must be normal but after all the other reading it seems it might not be. Any idea's?

Lube the throttle cable.

After reading this thread I'm thinking the original TB is great, Ford did a good job of it.
Why change?
