use to be you could turn the ignition on and off several times and the check engine light would flash giving you a certain trouble code reference. Does the MM do that? with or without the RPC chip installed?

That was with the old OBD-I system...since 1996, everything is OBD-II, and I don't think that works anymore...chip has nothing to do with it...
