I was wondering if there were rocker kit's, cams or anything like that on the market for our cars. Internal stuff is really my question.

Cam kits are available, about $1200-$1500 plus labor. Aggressive cams may require valves and springs too. Only aftermarket followers (rockers) are from Jesel. The OEM followers are single roller, the Jesels are double roller. The best price I've found for the Jesels was $93, list price is $99. That's EACH and it takes 32 of them. So a built set of heads with valves, springs, cams, followers, port work, hardened seats & guides can cost over $6,000.

Geeze thats really up there. You bet, which is why you need to plan your mods carefully, and realize there are limitations

Bang for the buck, supercharging is still the best way to go.

Nitrous is still a rather large Bang for the Buck mod..... in the beginning. At about $50 / 10lb Bottle Refill..... you will EVENTUALLY have invested the same amount as a S/C.

$500 for the initial Nitrous Kit
$50 Per Bottle of Nitrous
X 90 Bottle Refills
-------
Average S/C = $5000

So...... how fast you gonna burn through the juice?!?!?!?

:beatnik:

PS - Buy a Supercharger ;)

It's been stated many times in past posts..... the top end of the MM's 4.6L is very well designed, very small performance gains available for the amount of money you'd invest.

This is why I stuck to a plan in my last build up. New springs, seats and retainers, some combustion chamber and port clean up, but retained the stock cams. Even then, came to 1600 bucks, but I'm happy.

I was afraid of that...I checked them out on Jesel's website and saw the $99 list price.
I was hoping that was for a pair of roller rockers.:(
JEEZ!!...$3,000 for a set of rocker arms! I guess that Second Street Speed's DOHC roller rocker arms aren't so outrageously priced after all.:o
