Well my passenger side heated seat light started to flicker at 24k miles.
The drivers side switch gets much more use then the passenger side.
What is the issue with this damn switch???!!! How hard can it be to get a simple switch to work?! LED life is measured in thousands of hours...not minutes.
Has anyone done some forensics on the failed switches? I worry that this will revisit me at 48k miles except it will be on my dime!:(

My passenger side seat light went out long ago, and it ain't worth my deductible, either.

My driver's side seat light has been flickering for the past 5,000 miles (started at 30K). I try not to look at it. :D

Mine flickered for 25k miles before I did anything about it.

My window switch light was intermittant and flickered and I guess it was a bad connection....not the LED per se?? Dealer ordered the whole switch module for me and I changed it in the parking lot and he covered it under warranty!!
If I remember the whole module wasn't but $35.00 or so....How much could the heated seat switch be?? I don't have them and don't know what it looks like??

the Driver side window switch, the light for the "up window" is out.
Is there anyway to repair this without having to replace the entire switch??

Sorry but no....the whole window switch module has to be replaced.:shake: Marauderjack:burnout: And it's quite easy, a simple D.I.Y. I replaced two, one for no illumination on the #3 MM, the other for intermittent "up" failure on the "#1x" MM.
I've got the flashing driver's side heated seat switch on #3 too. Can anyone confirm what the repair is? If it's just another switch module, I can do that. Just don't know if this is all it is. Anyone?

Mac,
Mine was replaced under warranty, and was fairly simple as the door panel had to be removed, and the switch replaced.
I was told by my L/M Dealer that this is common on the MM's as well as the GM's.
Total job was about 30 minutes as I watched the tech do the R&R.

Passenger heated seat switch replaced twice under warranty in the last 4 months and once on the driver side. They seems to be crap design of some sort. It is not possible to just replace the light. Creative engeneering ? :(
The light is embedded in a big square plastic module with 10 -20 wires sticking out.
My warranty is almost out and i don't know what to do about it. Maybe look for a 1963 Marauder. In those times .....

What a crappy design. Wonder what actually goes on these suckers. If it's a simple loose connection it would be worth while for FORD to fix it. I mean it must be costing them $1000's with all of the warrantee work.

For you guys with no light in the window switch, it's a one piece modular switch with a plug-in install. here's a pic from my Gallery...

Sealed unit for all the window switches, nothing to maintain or repair, just replace the module. I've replaced two now.
Carefully (it's plastic) pop off the switch panel and the module will come out. Again, carefully pop out the module from the wire harness and replace it, and restore the panel to the door. 10 minutes...
P/N is 5L1Z-144529-AA. Retail is 49.23, you can do better if you're a favorite with a parts department somewhere. My local cost is 33 bucks from my dealership.
Now...Can anyone tell me that my flashing heated seat switch is likewise a bad module? It's the backlit illumination that's flashing, not the on/off indicator. Thanks!

The switch module was all that was replaced under warranty by the dealer on mine last year. It was also the backlight flashing not the heat on light. Problem hasn't returned. This was the passenger side, driver side has been fine. Since it was a warranty fix I didn't get the old switch back so no chance to do an 'autopsy'.
