I picked up my MM on April 28th and left the next morning driving it to central Iowa. Didn't get off to a great start. Stopped at a rest area in North Carolina. When we got back on the road, I noticed that both front and rear domelights were on and wouldn't go off no matter what buttons we pushed.

I also made the mistake of letting my wife drive it for the first time on the West Virginia Turnpike. This section had a lot of curves and she wasn't used to the "sportscar" handling. Her old LHS had very loose steering. For the first 10 miles, she was all over the road. Scarred the hell out of me. She also complained that the car road like a lumber wagon.

Found a LM dealer in Ohio. Nice female SM sprayed all the door locks with silicon spray and voila, the dome lights turned off.

Let the wife drive again on a straight road in Ohio and she got the hang of it.

Because the car was new, I took a lot of back roads to vary the speed. I usually hate getting behind a slow car on a 2 lane road. This time I couldn't wait to (as my wife said) blow their doors off.

Once we got to Iowa, I checked the air pressure in the tires. 36 pounds on the right side, 35 on the left. Took them down to 32 pounds which helped the ride tremendously.

On the way home, my wife was driving on I74 in Indiana and came up behind a semi. A ford explorer was about to pass her as well as 5 cars behind it. She didn't want to wait for all of them so she floored it, cut in front of the Explorer and took it up to 85-90 mph to pass the semi. Pulled back in front of it and reset the cruise at 70. The explorer pulled along side. That's when we noticed the word Police on the side. He smiled and waved and kept going.

The last day on the road, we drove 400 miles in downpouring rain, dodging tornados. Car handled beautifully on the wet roads.

Only checked gas mileage once on a 200 mile stretch of interstate. Was very happy and surprised to get 25 mpg.

All in all, a great ride of 2,400 miles.

Great news! I am glad you are enjoying the MM. But do us all a favor and keep the Tornado dodging to a minimum! ;)
