Hey everybody,

I bought one 18X9 aftermarket 2005+ mustang wheel from Mustangtuning.com, for test fitting...

http://www.mustangtuning.com/verde-2005-anthracite-deep-dish-bullitt-wheel-18x9.html

...and well it didn't fit :(
On the front it stuck out a good inch from the fender lip.
On the back it was even/flush with the fender lip, so the the sidewall of the tire would definetly stick out of the wheel well.

The odd thing is that the 17X9 2005+ mustang wheels have a different offset and backspacing from that of the 18x9.
If I calculated it correctly the 17x9's will stick out of the front wheel well by about a 1/4", in the back they should be fine.

I just wanted to pass on this information before anyone else decided to make a purchase for new wheels.

Weird. IIRC, there was a guy that put '05 Mustang rims on his '03+ Grand Marquie, and didn't have any clearance issues.

EDIT- found the pic:

Go to your local Ford dealer and check the info rack for the whole book of wheels for all Fords. Our marauder wheels are the first ones you see when you open the page. Under '06 mustang.

If you can not fine it, pm me an address and I will send it to you:)

I just wanted to pass on this information before anyone else decided to make a purchase for new wheels. The wheel has a 6.41" backspace, and a 34mm positive offset. Plus, it's a 9" wide wheel, and the centerline is at 4.50" not 4.0". As I posted for you not long ago, the OEM Marauder is 18X8, 50mm positive offset (measured from a 4.0" centerline) and 6.295" backspace.

The results you post today are exactly what one should expect when mounting a wheel of those dimensions on a Marauder, or, an '05 and up Mustang. Considering the Mustang's open wheel well body design, perhaps this is desireable in some applictions?

On the bright side, you just widened the track on the car by an inch or so. :D

You used a deep dish. The regular 2005's have a 6.77" backspace and a 45mm offset. It should be only about a 1/4" further out then stock on a 9" wheel if my quick math is working this early (doubtful).

It would have been great to find a good fitting inexpensive wheel for my 305 DRs to mount so I can switch the tires quickly when racing. The price at $150.00 is unbeatable for a 18x9 wheel. A wider wheel would have been better, but I have not found Anything that will fit right in 18s. Any other thoughts on this continuing search for a suitable and reasonable cost 18" rim for DRs.

I wanted to stay with an 18" wheel that's why I got the deepdish 18*9.
If I went with the 17*9 they would have stuck out about a 1/4" in the front like you stated below.

Good thinking Bigdogjim,

I'll stop by local dealer ship this week.
If I remember correctly don't they make three or four styles of 5 spoke rims for the 2005+ mustangs???

Glenn If you want the correct 18" wheel for the Nitto 305/45-18 drag radial, it should be a 10" wide wheel.

When you find one that fits the Marauder correctly too, let me know? I'll buy two along with you. I really don't care what it looks like at the track...

Just for the hell of it I created these two images of how the oem mustang 17x8 +45mm offset and the oem mustang 18x8.5 +50mm offset compares to our oem marauder 18x8 +50mm rims.

I just wish the factory rims had a deeper lip.
