Me and a bunch of DFW SHO guys will be going to the SHO convention starting next Sunday the 17th in Memphis, what I need help with is some detailing spray for under the hoods of our cars. AutoZone used to sell some good stuff but they don't stock it anymore. It was in a silver can and it had a picture of a Ferrari engine on the front of it, we have lost the name of the stuff and was hoping some one over here may know the name of it and where we might could get some of it. How it works is you spary all the plastic and rubber parts under the hood and it makes it all shine like the tire cleaning stuff does but it won't damage any thing under the hood. If no one knows of this stuff but knows of something that works as well we'd be greatfull to know about it.

TIA :beatnik:

The last time I purchased some it was:
CD-2 Engine Detailer
CD-2 Chicago, IL 60638
Stock #4516
SKU #70711 04516
http://www.midwayautosupply.com/detailedproductdescription.asp ?4618

Gunk used to make the best IMHO but they got all PC on us and can't sell it anymore.

Hope this helps.

I know you want a single product but heres how I keep mine looking new.

Step one:Clean everything with Simple Green let sit about 5 or so minutes then blast it off with water, keep rinsing tell the suds go away.Wipe only the big puddles of water no need to dry everything.

Next spray everything down with Mequires Vinal and rubber protectant, you can also use ArmorAll.Leave it wet.

Close the hood, start the engine(at this point I wash my car) let it steam up a little, about 10-15 mins.Shut off engine and finish the outside wash up.Keep the hood closed about a total of 30 or so mins, don't peek you want the steam.

Open the hood and wipe up the puddles and wipe around if you want and your done.

Might work on a Marauder but not a SHO. Last time I tried that I ended up with 3 cracked spark plugs on the back side of the engine. But thanks anyway. :D
