I am an idiot. First let me put that out there. I am in the process of installing a 1200 W amp on my 10" sub, I connected everything without running it through the car to verify the gorund, power, rem and connections all work. Everything works but when i turn it up my entire sound system Head unit, speakers, sub all shut off. then come back on after a few seconds. THE real problem is that I tried to start the car to give it more power and now it wont start ,all i hear is the CLICK CLICK CLICK of the starter. Please, someone let me know what I have done and how to fix it. I checked the fuses in the fuse box and all were ok that i could see, I checked the codes with a SCT handheld and nothing came up. :bows: help!

This has no correlation to the sound system problem, but as far as the starting problem goes, like zack said check the battery. OR, once in my old CV p71 my two woofers actually set off the fuel cutoff switch in the rear. And with the other problem, it sounds like you either have a short on the signal side, or you need a new ground.

Depressed is good, popped out is bad, are your lights and stereo working? if not, it definitely needs a electrical system charge. if you want check the harness under the switch.

That amp pulled the battery so low that it drained the battery and the radio cut off. You may need a "cap" or capacitor to help the amp when it pulls a lot of juice.

Zack is right, and it's that simple. Your battery got hit by an "v-amp-pire" and it's last life has been sucked out of it.

Charge it overnite to a full charge, and try again. If it happens again, that battery is shot, and the drain of your audio system may require a dual battery setup, or, (as suggested) a cap system.
