Here's one that I don't recall seeing before ....
I stopped on the way home from work to give my Blue MM its weekly fix of Sunoco 93. When I opened the gas door, I saw a puddle of water inside the lip of the plastic shroud that goes around the filler tube. It was about 2 jiggers worth of water. I dipped my finger in just to make sure it wasn't gasoline. After nearly 3 years of ownership, I do not ever recall seeing this water build-up. We have had some heavy rains here; but it has been since last week that the MM saw any rain at all. Hasn't been washed in the same amount of time. :o
Question --- is there supposed to be a drain hole in that plastic shroud? Seems that there should be. I used a couple paper towels to mop it up.

Yes that should drain out through a small hose. It must be clogged.

The hole is there, it is small, clogged and hard to see. I use a plastic wire tie to shove in hole to unplug, you can get a metal clothhanger and with dikes cut about a 10" section and use it to unclog hole.

There is a small hole with a hose attached.
Try a small piece of wire to clean out the debris.

That drain tube pokes thru the back part of the inner fender of the left-rear wheel. The end of the tube almost points at the tire. Put your garden hose nozzle against the end of the tube and blast the clog back into the gas cap well and out. (Leave the gas cap door open).

I guess I should have spelled it Gashole. Big Brother ******** me !
I wouldn't go poking anything in my hole.... Compressed air is the answer. We all have compressors, don't we???

Once you DO ......
Perhaps you ought to put some hair around it so this doesn't happen again.

A jigger is a bartender's unit of measure. 1 Jigger = 1.5 shots = 1.5 ounces. Now you know what that other little glass is in your bar set.
I fixed the problem using Smokie's technique. Fished around with a plastic wire tie and found the small drain hole and hose toward the rear of the car (i.e. back right as you look at the filler cap). Sure enough, it has collected some debris and was clogged. Guess I'll have to add this little item to the routine maintenance checklist.

This happens every time we have a gas hole problem on this board. Once again I have spilled my drink on the keyboard. Dennis:beer:
