A special autocross event at the Primus test track in Palmetto. This is an actual race track which has hazards not found in a typical autocross. Prior autocross or road racing experience is required!
Time: 07:00 AM
Location: Primus Racing (Palmetto)
From what I understand you have to have prior experience to run at this track, but one of the Mustang guys said this is worth watching, then after a "cone" race you can run the next time. Sounds like fun.
JMan and djv5150 came out to the last event, maybe we can get a few more Rauders and Vics to represent.
I'm definitely going to run at SPC in September.
Here is the website info:

Here are some pics of the last event (lets get some lead sleds out there):

Got this update, looks like its off... I'll post back if they take it somewhere else. :bigcry:
Sorry I've been a little absent on the forum lately. Busy at work, then my wife's birthday was last weekend and we went out of town.
Anyway... some new developments that apparently Dan hasn't had time to post yet.
1. Primus ain't happenin'. Same troubles with the county and the neighbors. They just don't even want to try to let us hold an event there now. Maybe sometime in the future, but not now. Dan is working on getting Brooksville if it is available.
2. Somebody get with Rob and get the trailer put to bed, please!
3. Jamie still has the timing equipment. I need to get it sometime soon so that I can do the repair work on it.
4. There is no 4. That's good, right?

Just a little historical perspective on Primus.
Back in the day the Kart track was located on airport land. When they went to expand the airport all the neighbors started whining (who woulda thought an airport would expand?!) any way during the big public meeting the kart racers came out and spoke in support of the airport. This was good in that the airport folks let the kart track saty as long as possible until the land got so $$$$$$$ they had to do something with it. Well Primus came along and created a "test track" that wasn't really supposed to have events. Well the primus folks let the kart guys run there a few times, and the neighbors decided to take out their whiny a** frustration on Primus. So that's just one of the reasons that they have so much trouble, don't blame it on Primus, those guys have treated people good, it's the whiners that live around there.

From the Florida NASA website:
Primus is no longer able to host street cars, so we will not be holding our August 12th event there, nor will we be scheduling future events there.
Thankfully, we were able to grab the date at Brooksville last minute, so we'll still have an event!

I asked the same question as I have not been there, here is what one of the Mustang guys said:
It's on an airport runway, If it's like last time they'll make it tight like SPC. Just a longer overall course. From the vehicle it looks like a sea of cones.
It could be great, but it's not my favorite by a long shot, Primus would've been better.
I'm still gonna go and see what happens. Here is a Mustang video:

Here is the latest. Looks like they need a list of everyone on the property, so if your going to just check it out, you have to register. Any takers?
