I'm going to need new tires soon, and I'm looking for some input for new tires.
I am going to stay with the 18" rims I have now.
I do need a good all season tire seeing I live in pennslyvania.
If the tire is a little wider than stock it will be okay, as long as the overall height remains the same.
any ideas?

I thought this post would have brought out more replies than this.
Are we stuck with the "oem" tires or is there another source?
I looked on tire rack with no real luck.
Has anyone gone down to 17" wheels and tires?

If you use the search function and plug in "Tire Matrix"
you'll find that member "Breadfan" has done a great deal
of research to come up a very extensive summary of
tires (18") that are available as choices.

Instead of BFG KDWS you can put on KDW2 (also known as KDW NT). The rears are not exact size match - 255/55 I think is what I have. Just a teemsy bit larger than stock. Fronts are available in stock OEM size. They seem to be wearing a little better than stock. Not an option for driving in snow though. I found other tires in stock or close to stock sizes, but they were more expensive.

You could do a Kenny Brown setup and go with 255/45-18 front and 255/50-18 rear. The height different is fairly close to stock on both front and rear.
The BFG KDW2 are great summer tires but stink in the snow.

As others have said the best option is probably the KDW-2 tires. They aren't really rated for winter use though, so check the last section of my report for other combinations. Hope this helps!

For me the "best" solution is a set of summer tires and a set of winter tires. As others have reported the stock KDWS are not a great all season tire. Do yourself a favor and get a dedicated winter tire if you are going to drive the car year-round. This will give you the ability to get a higher performance summer tire and a higher performance winter tire.
I currently run the KDWS as my summer tire (probably going to KDW2 when these are gone) and Hankook IceBears for my winter tires.

I googled BF GOODRICH and came up with a list of venders that sell MM tires. Good luck and send a post if you are sucessful.

Terminology clarification - not exact wording, this is from my memory:
KDWS=Key feature Dry Wet Snow
KDW2 =Key feature Dry Wet 2nd tread design
KDW NT=Key feature Dry Wet New Tread design
KDW2=KDW NT

Wow! Thanks for doing all the leg work for me:)
The spreadsheets/tables are great, I'll have to study them when I get a free moment.
Thanks again. :2thumbs:
