I Just got my MM a couple weeks ago and I don't have the code for the door panel keypad. The manual says that the factory code should be taped to the computer. Where is the computer. once I get that code I can reset it and change it. Thanks for any help.

I dont know if the key code for the door is on the computer, but I'll tell you where it is.

If your sitting in the drivers seat, it is under the dash over your left shin. Go under there and remove the plastic trim panel and you will see a rectangular silver box. Thats it.

Charlie, I think he meant the keyless-entry module...

Big Stu, the module is inside the driver's door, near the bottom hinge...and yes, the factory door code is on there...

Thank you gentlemen, you just made my day. Now if I can get the penny out of the dime slot life will be grand.

To save you a little hassle, there is normally a small white sticker placed on the passenger side trunk lid arm of all panthers with the permanent code to the keyless entry system.

otherwise, as stated above, pull the door panel. You can see it in the lower right hand in this pic, it ahs an arrow with label poitning to it. Yours should be in the same location

The keyless and remote entry systems are integrated into the Drivers Door Module, which also controls the auto/express-down window, power locks, etc.

In addition to the trunk arm, it is usually viewable on a module behind the glove box. The trunk is easiest but the box isn't bad, you just need to bend down and look around if memory serves the box is towards the right side.

That method will only work on -94 panthers. -94 had the RKE/KE functions in their own seperate module, this module was located behind the glovebox as you pointed out. Your 89 should also have it in this location. However, starting in the 1995 MY, the RKE,autolocks, KE, auto-down window, etc, were all combined into the one module, the DDM. This is the only module that controls the RKE/KE functions, and thus, should be the only one with the code printed on it.

I haven't seen a keyless entry code on a trunk hinge for at least the last 4 model years.
Look up door panel removal on this site remove the panel. Code is on a label on the driver's door module.
Other option, go to a dealer and ask a tech to get it for you with an NGS or IDS. Only takes a minute.

On my '04 I found the keyless entry code on the box behind the glove box, the drivers side trunk hinge, the module on the drivers side door and on the body where the "A" pillar meets the body (you have to open the door to see it).

My question is can/how do you change the code??

1 + factory code + 1 + New five digit code +1 = both codes saved.

My question is can/how do you change the code??The factory code is permanent and can't be changed, but you can input 3 additional 5-digit codes of your choice.

I don't have the exact procedure memorised...it's in the owner's manual.

Thank you....My MM didn't come with an owners manual, so I don't get this type of simple info.

no Problemo!, Their is stuff I'm still learning too!
Speed sensitive volume control is one of the things, I found out, much later.
