I have gotten the go light from Logan if I want to take the lead for the meet in Texas,in Sept. If I can get some help from all who could and want to help. So if you feel you want to help I could use it. I will talk to Fun Ford to see what we need to do. I've done local car show so I think I can do this, just I'm in Alabama so it's going to take some doing but I belive we can do this. Let me know and if you don't think I can, please let me know. It's not going to hurt my feeling's. I just would like to see a show for use. If you know what I mean.
Thanks Bob:coolman: :help:

I have a call into FF people so I can get infor on what needs to be done . As soon as I get what I need I will put it out. This should be like the one they had for the Bullit meet. It should be what we would like it to be. I will ask what ever you all want me to. I just want us to have fun and meet each other. You can send me PM on any ideas and help you have. I will send all a PM who want to help. I just need to get a hold of FF. It is in Sept.

Ok guy's here is what is going on with the meet in Texas with Fun Ford.!!!
I've got some information for you all. The Date's are Sept. 19-21 in Ennis Texas which is south of Dallas. Right now I have the host hotel for Fun Ford is the Quality Inn rates are $89.00 a night.
There will be a flyer put out by FF to tell about the event's they have. They are going to do it like they did the Bullitt Mustang last year. We will have spot in the main area with a tent for us. There are alot of area's that I'm still working on with people. So please bear with me.
I do have Steve Babcock coming, who is the Marauder Program Manager. Also Jerry Barnes from Trilogy Int. is coming and he said he should have his SG kit ready. He's going to bring the car also. I'm going to invite some other folks . My plan is to have Fourm on Sat night so we all can talk to these guy's about are car and what is coming up for it. And also to each other about are Marauder's. I'm trying to do this right . So please give me some feedback. And for those who said they wanted to help I will be getting in contact with you. I hope what I have done so far is to your liking.
Thanks Bob:help:  :coolman:

Thanks to Bob Mathis, we have the attention of L-M management. They will be assisting in some important areas which Bob will fill you in on in the coming weeks. We've got some fun planned, I can tell you that. Right now, L-M management is in the process of moving their HQ from Irvine, CA to Dearborn so there will be a small delay, but no big deal. I think that everything will be laid out by Bob within a few days or a week at most. It's gonna happen and it's gonna happen BIG. Stay tuned.
I have been completely missing this thread (for some reason).
We've got 2-3 threads going about a meet this fall, and Bob looks like he's got the closest to an OFFICIAL, large-scale, National Marauder Meet being planned.
I for one would like to encourage everyone to take a look at the possibilities of us concentrating on this meet instead of Hershey (or Knoxville) in the Poll Thread.
The chance for all of us to get together, have major sponsors from this site there and ESPECIALLY to get a chance to speak with Steve Babcock.
My efforts will go towards this road-trip of nearly 900 miles that I feel will be a good time for everyone.
Thoughts from the eastcoast and mid-west?

Hmmmmm, Texas is a long way........But it might be fun.........I wonder how long it would take me to get there from NY? Is this meant to be in place of the Hershey, PA meet with have been discussing?

I am working hard to make this work And it does sound like L-M is going to be a real help. I will keep you up to date on everthing that is happening. Fun Ford is great bunch to work with. We will have a great time. Pass the word to all you can and be sure to talk to your local dealers about are meet.

BOB : I will be there to assist you in making the Event a Sucess.
Richard
1) First and foremost to meet folks from here. I have experienced this from the local meets and from meeting/calling some of you that this IS a special group of folks.
2) To have the opportunity to meet with representatives from L/M (specifically Mr. Babcock) to get some insight, answers but most of all show support for this car and support for its return (if it truely IS going to go away)
At Hershey, I'd be able to do 1)...if some of you would reconsider attending Dallas...both can be accomplished by all of us. Couple of pennies from me...

Marty, I drove the trip from Fort Worth to Wilkes-Barre , PA about 50 times--with the present speed limits, you should be able to make it in 2 days, no night driving--it is 1500 miles from my house to W/B. Looking forward to meeting you, Maury

Sounds like a blast, but TX is way out there. I would love to attend but I'm pretty sure I won't be able to, with school/work and all. I'd really like to meet all you guys (and gals) and Mr. babcock. Well I wish you guys a lot of luck planing and setting everything up, and If somehow I do make it out there it'd be nice to meet you all.

Just the type of question that needs to be posed to Mr. Babcock IMHO. Without attacking the guy, I'd be interested in the response....thought process...

I posed this question here back on 13 May, and I recieved no reply, here or by e-mail. I came to consider this meet a local event such as we have held ourselves here in Chicagoland. Thus, I didn't return to this thread, until I noted TAF had posted here, and I wondered what shennanigans he was up to. Now this appears a National Event, and one I would like to attend.
Hmmm...Now what do I do?
Mad Man, MartyO, BigDog, RF and Mary Ober-bored and others have since gone forward with plans for the Miswest and East Coast crews to meet in Hershey, PA on 27-28 Sept.
Driving the 1K miles one way to Ennis is a no brainer for me, but I'm not sure I want to spend two days immersed in car stuff when the alternative is spending two days with good friends and enjoying a lot of other stuff along with some time for MM related fun. I'm proud to be an MM owner and I love to attend a National event, even have the right lapel pins for such an affair. However, these friends are real people in my life and I'm not going to disappoint them. I'm in for where ever the two crews head to. Marty, Big Dog, Mad Man, and the rest of y'all in the Midwest and east Coast crews, you call it. Where ever y'all want to meet up, I'll be THERE!
Bob Mathis...I know you're very busy with this, I've set up likewise events myself. It's no picnic, and there will always be that one voice who later says "you should have done this..." You took on a lot and I admire that. Thank you for your hard work yet to come.
I have one suggestion. Bang your drum louder on this event, for a short while anyway. I may not be the only MM.Net member who misunderstood the scope of your plans.

I don't want to be a wet blanket on this one, but it is simply too far for me to attend. It would be four days driving (two there, two back), plus whatever time I spend there. Some of you have gotten to know me pretty well, and know how much I work. As a result, what would be a minimum six day commitment for me just isn't in the cards (last time I took that much time off, I got married and let's just say that didn't work out so well and leave it at that). Nonetheless, I will be there in spirit and, honestly, if there is anything I can do from my end of the country, I would be more than happy to help out.
We (the midwest/east coast crews) will be proceeding with the September 27-28 event. I am sure the Texas folks and us will be able to share notes to ensure that both events are the success we all want them to be. I for one will continue to follow this thread closely.
Look...I would like to see us have a meet where we can get the "best of both worlds"...meeting everyone here AND info.
I realize the Hershey is better to hook up with Marty, Big Dog, etc. But what about Wolfe, R.C. and James Hecker (there are others, just using these as examples).
If Dallas is going to be a National "Sanctioned' Meet with Mr. Babcock. AND, if Dennis, Trilogy, Kenny Brown, Sean Hyland and others can be there to "show their wears"...let alone maybe getting the FordChip guys scheduled...I must say I'm headed to Dallas. The plan is (according to Bob) to be in another area of the country Summer '04.
Folks...I got to tell you that I'm on this bandwagon now. I had not seen Bob's posts before, meanwhile we were working on deciding on Hershey. So for me, I'm working on going here.
I certainly understand if some feel this is too far, but it's 850 miles either way for me...
EDIT: And one more thing...Dallas IS the "physical home" of MM.net!

Greeting to the Mercury Marauder Owners from the Bullitt Club. I am the National Show Director of the Bullitt Club. We had our First Annual Event in Ennis last year. The facility is first rate. Plenty of parking.

This thread needs to be read by everybody. I've ignored it up 'til now because TX is a good way off from me. How about changing the title of this thread to Texas NATIONAL Meet!
Todd, this comment puts it all in a nutshell...
"If Dallas is going to be a National "Sanctioned' Meet with Mr. Babcock. I always believed "when opportunity knocks, you better open the door" and this may be the only chance like this. And with the Fun Ford Weekend folks' help, it should have pretty high attendance, getting LM's attention and maybe we can even get somebody from Roush (among others) to come explore possible product development opportunities.

I guy's I have been out for awhile taking a break from things. So now I will try to reply to all of you.
SergntMac, I did not get back with you because I did not have the infor. that I felt needed to be put out yet. So I sure did not want to give out anythig that would lead anyone on. I hope you don't think I was trying to avoid you. And this goes for all of you all. I need all the help I can get and by all mean's please tell me if I'm doing something wrong. I am not trying to this by myself, that cann't be done. Yes , this is alot to do and I'm finding out ,but like I said FF is on top of things because they want this to happen too.
I know that in the begining I put out that Logn could not take this on so I ask him and he said that I could. So I said I would. I work hard at these kind of thing's and I do not want to have anything fail. Because I want us all to come and have a great time. There is alot to do, but that's all right!! With your help to keep me on top of things it will get done. My wife is behind me and so are alot of others like you all and that's what makes me work harder.
This will be are first annual meet. FF want's it to be a annual event. Now I know you all say I hope not in Texas each year. The future plan's are to more it each year to a different place through out the FF event's and they have them for North to South East and West. So that way everyone can come at some time. But right now we need to get are first one done. Like SergntMac said somone will say we should have done it different and yes we maybe should have but we need to do it first and belive me I want you all to please tell me. I can deal with it.
I may not be the smartest guy out there but I work hard and I'm not the richest and that is the big think there is to do is get spouser's and that as of now in most area's seems to be taken care of. The ball is rolling and it's going good for now.
One more thing I by no means am I out for the to make a name for my self. I am just a car guy who like to met people and have a good time. Ihope that I have said all the right things for now and to say Thanks to all for there replies. You can also call me at (334) 894-6278 or E- Mail me at bjm03mm@entercomp.com

Also "5.0 and Super Ford" too.
If I remember the Bullet guys got some ink before Dallas last year.

For Cyclone 03, I will put out a Press Release for the various magazines from FFW this week. Just for your info, MM&FF Magazine will be there (as well as ohter mags and internet mags) since they are a sponsor of both the series and also the True Street Class. They have someone at all of the FFW events to shoot photos and do the stories, as well as to shoot feature cars.
