Marauder57's image of Darth Vader posted in another thread got me feeling kind of artsy...

TripleTransAm,

Man that is way cool! I dig that a lot...pretty good for just off the cuff....What we need is to get some cleaner starting pictures and make some T-shirts!

Very nice! :D

That's pretty cool. You know when they were advertising the SS back in the mid 90's they coined the phrase: "Lord Vader, your car is ready." or something to that effect. And it still applies today to any blacked out car that's big IMO(you know, that looks good too!)

Thanks for the encouraging feedback, folks. The T-shirt idea sounds like fun, I have to find a couple of black T-shirts and try to print out some iron-on transfers to see what it looks like. I'm not sure what the limitations are as far as using what is clearly a trademarked image (D.V.) in a T-shirt printed for non-profit purposes. Last thing I want is George Lucas and a pack of p*ssed off Ewoks on my tail over copyright infringement.

Let's see... $10 for T-shirt, $5 in inkjet ink, $2 (?) for the transfer sheet, $5 for shipping, $500 for Lucasfilm rights...

... $522 a T-shirt! (sounds like the situation the MM was in before rebates!) LOL!

I've got visitors from Sweden at my house this week, so I'll only be able to try this out next week. I'll post pictures of the final result if it comes out half-decently.

FYI: I use Photoshop 7 and it works pretty well. I don't know 10% of what this software can do, though. It's fun to experiment, that's for sure.

One more thing: the text I included in that image seems awkward in some places. Keeping in mind English is not my first language, is there a glaring grammatical error anywhere in that phrase? Any suggestions for tweaking the wording, yet keeping the exact same meaning and feeling?

Looks good, only works for those of you with the "bad a-- black"
though....:( No grammatical errors I can see)

I like that "Lord Vader your car is waiting thing....that is pretty cool! How do you like Photoshop 7? I have 6 and it was a great improvement over 5. Is it worth the $150 to go to 7? Photoshop is just an amazing program....I agree if I am using 10% of its capability I would be exageratting...

But I do dig the shirt idea.....

DOH. Good point... shows I wasn't thinking clearly last night (where DID all that whiskey go?).

I can't say if Photoshop 7 is much better than 6. I got used to 6, and 7 does everything 6 did (I think) and I hear it's much more powerful than 6. *shrug* Ask me again in 2 years (when Photoshop 9 is out, LOL!).

I have a few more ideas kicking around, I'll see if I can spit out one or two later tonight.

After giving it a lot of thought, I was wondering if the text I placed in that image wouldn't sound better as:

"For days when messing with one bada$$ in shiny black armor just isn't enough..."

Seems to flow better than what I previously used.

But it would be fun if I could come up with a color-neutral text to use in some of my other ideas. I wonder how Darth Vader would look painted in metallic blue?

Even Darth Vader changed his colour to compete

Look who is changing colour now! :D

If they were with it, Mercury could have some fun with Marauder advertising
