Sunshine State Marauders has a meeting at the Tower Shops on the East coast frequently which is really impractical for those of us on this coast who work until 6PM. Who wants to meet on the West coast occasionally for breakfast or a show? I know there are a few of you besides me (CarFixer, MarauderTJA, King FUBAR, etc...) that would like to meet once a month and have breakfast maybe at Mel's or the classic diner on Gladiolus Rd. Let's put our heads together and come up with something guys... There has to be at least 6 or 7 of us..........

Sounds like a good idea to me. How about Sarasota area occassionally so that the Greater Tampa Bay area Marauderers could more reasaonably join in? We really need to energize the West Coast as the Tower and the Castleberry groups make us look like old stick in the muds who don't get out much any more. Dennis:beer:

Awesome idea my man. Sarasota is a nice drive and we could schedule a Saturday morning breakfast because most of us work until 6 or later on Friday!!

I'd make the west cost meetings occasionally if it were a weekend deal!

I'd love to participate in more meets, so some on the west coast in or near the Tampa Bay area would be terrific. Sarasota is a nice area, and perhaps those of us up here in Tampa Bay could caravan down. Tell me when and where and I'll be there!

I was thinking maybe Port Charlotte or Sarasota at a decent strip mall with a restaurant nearby. We could do a Saturday evening or Sunday morning meet. I would expect almost a dozen of us!! If anyone knows of such a place please throw some ideas. At the rate of SSM now - I will NEVER be able to attend a meeting at the Tower Shops. Any guys in this area call me at 239-770-3630 and we will make this happen.

I agree and think most of the rest of us would. Silver, pick a place, Sarasota- Venice area and a time and we will figure out how to get a convoy going from Tampa, Clearwater, St. Pete area. You can get a convoy from Ft. Meyers, and surrounding area. Perhaps PM Tallboy he knows the people and the places and can set it up. This meet will give us a chance to figure out what we want to do on a regular basis. Stand back....I don't know how big this is going to get! :D Dennis:beer:

This is just an idea, but the 4th Saturday of every month, from 5pm to 9pm in Cape Coral there is a car show that goes on weather permitting. Fubar and I have been attending for almost a year. There is trophies and music, and usually have about 90 or so cars that are there for the show. This is held in the parking lot in the 1400 block of south Del Prado, there are several eating establishments close by, some you can walk to. I've spoken to fubar and we will be there this saturday night , of course weather permitting.

Give me the exact address or name. Is it the TJ Maxx plaza? There was a show there every week until the "fast guys" showed up in Civics and Kneons. Those prepubescent dorks got everybody chased out before someone got killed. Call me with details, 770-3630. Thanks for the heads up and see you Saturday!!!

Yep, TJMax parking lot, no problems since I've been going there. Hardly ever a ricer, just American made hot rods, and collectables, see ya then..

Cape Coral is a little far for us up in Tampa Bay. Any good locations in the Venice area? That's about half-way I think. There used to be a place called Sharkeys on the Pier right on the beach near the airport. Is that still there? Anyone know of any car shows in the area?
Is anyone thinking of going to Biff's or the BK any time soon (in St. Pete)?

The Cape Coral show is just a few locals. The Port Charlotte/ Venice area sounds great for all of us from South to North who are SSM members. All we need is somebody who lives in the area to find a suitable place.

Brad,
We will probably head down to BK this Sat. I was planning bringing my Mach 1 but I don't think my wife would mind driving the MM :)

There is a car show held the first Friday of every month @ McDonalds on US 41 in Port Charlotte. I haven'y been there yet but passing by it looks like mostly american muscle. Mel's diner is only a few blocks away as is Olive Garden, Applebees, Gator's and other eatery's. It is easily accesible fron I-75 and if it rains the 1st Friday they push it ti the 2nd Friday.
Also There is a place on River Rd. just a few feet off of I-75 Venice - North Port border(I can't think of the name right now). It is a Restaraunt and bar with plenty of parking area. They have live country music outdoors every Sunday (no admission charge). It is situated right on the Myakka River and is accesible by boat as well. Large outdoor sitting area with plenty of shade To enjoy the music, food and beer. Only drawback is the driveway is about a 1/2 mile long dirt road but it is flat and hard.
Or the new Applebees. on 41 and Sumter in North Port shares a lot with the new Wal-mart and the new Home Depot.
Or Th North Jeddy @ Nokomis beach just north of Venice. They sell food and Beer. Located on the intercoastal @ the Gulf inlet.
Or The Woodhaven Grill on Toledo Blade in N.P. easily on-off I-75. Pool tables, horseshoes indoor and outdoor food and drink.
Or Hooters in Port Charlotte corner of 41 and 776.
Thoughts?

Well guys lets do it!! Friday night is out since I work until 6 or 7. I really think a Sunday AM breakfast or even a Saturday evening would be best. The area at the North Port/ Venice area is a nice middle ground for even the Tampa guys.

Snook Haven.
Thank you, Tallboy. The name had slipped my mind. Snookhaven is the place on River rd.
We have lots of options, so start chiming in with your picks.
